Denon DN-SC2900 Mapping

A mapping for Cross 2.x - I've looked around and found nothing yet. Does such a beast exist? Please tell me where or how I can get it.

I've started manually mapping the 2900, but having difficulty with two controls: the jog wheel (cd/vinyl jog vs. combojog, and of course, mapping values) and the pitch fader (moving the pitch fader control gives the on-screen fader a very squirrely, erratic, inverse movement, which, i think is due to the fact that the 2900 control is on 14bits). i can tear out the midi-send page (figuratively speaking) and send you guys a copy if it'll help you help me.

For the jog, you can have a look into the other Denon devices (duplicate, then explore).
Should be a touch/move : 2 notes are sent. The range should be obvious when looking at the other.

Concerning the 14bits pitch faders, it send alternatively 2 blocks of values, you need to catch the lower one, so you'll end up with a 7bits one. Then check inverse to avoid opposite action.

Will try to find the 2900 documentation and give more hints.

i have a PDF(15Mb) of the SC2900 manual. does PM allow attachments? what send options do we have?

regarding the jog, it does seem to send two notes, but Cross only recognizes the note when moving the jog's top (and results in vinyl mode behaviour). when moving the jog's side, Cross acknowledges MIDI activity but does not show it (and Cross does not show any cd mode behaviour: in fact, does not react at all)

checking with MidiOX, the monitor shows the same note being sent whether top or side of jog is moved.

regarding the pitchfaders: i did the lower side as instructed. same erratic pitch feedback...

I guess it is a touch preset :
- note is touch
- cc is jog

The side with the same messages is for now an issue for Cross but the next update should solve that.

The pitch fader : you should uncheck 14bits to do that for now.

Most of the manufacturer are doing 14bits as they want (not as specified by the norme) in a next update we will "widen" the 14bits to be more compliant with not regular things...

There is no info about this inthe SC2900 Manual but does the SC2900 sends the "jog touch note" regardless you touch the jog´s top or side? Or only if you touch the top? If it send the touch note regardless you touch the jog´s top then Cross also can not differ it and there is no way to bend and scratch a track without using the Vinyl/CD Mode switch i think.

it sends the note only when touching the top. touching the side sends a MIDI command that Cross does not recognize.

one workaround could be that Cross would recognize the VINYL button is active on the 2900 so that it could then set itself to vinyl jog, and to go to cd jog (bend) if the VINYL button is inactive.
unfortunately, the 2900 sends the same notes no matter what state the VINYL button at. if there was a way to query the button state so Cross automagically knows what jog mode to go into, that would be sweet.

it also suits my old school style since i get better feed and feel when using the jog top on cd (a la cdj-100)

can this be done with modifiers? do we have docs on using modifiers in Cross?
