I can't disable the audio devices because the audio from the Pro is routed back into my laptop and out of the speakers plugged into the laptop.

:?: :?: why do you have it set up like this,,,try not hooking it up to your computer and connect the out puts to the speakers/sound system ,,,try that and see if it still glitches

I have once uninstalled the ATI Catalyst and used the windows internal graphic driver which gave a huge boost. Unfortunately very poor resolution :-/

It's just an Intel HD Graphics Family internal card. Your suggestion worked on my old lump of desktop. :)

The recording thing I took as good news, but the dropouts are frustrating and off-putting.

Seriously, can someone just lend me £1000 to get a Mac so I don't have any problems!?

Do you knwo that you can record internally while playing in Dual Stereo? Regarding while playing with timecode it is not as easy, but I think there is a solution now with the internal input for External Mixer mode - did not test nor use it.

Yeah, the Dual Stereo method is what I use. And it seems to work for timecode too...unless I'm misunderstanding what you are saying.

No no, you're right. I might have misunderstood why you need another recording, because this might slow down your machine.

My setup is basically:

1) Pro 2, 1/2 output into >> microphone port of laptop.
2) 7.1 speakers plugged into headphone port of laptop, so I can hear 1)

And typing this out has made me realise that 1) isn't needed at all, is it?! It's because I used to have an external mixer, I've got confused!

Being honest: Why do you do that?

Buy an RCA to jack adapter, connect that to your Output 1/2, connect that with your 7.1 speakers and use the headphone jack for the headphone while you record internally. So there is no need for another programm running and the sound is not routed back into your laptop. I think that this might cause your drop outs!

Not sure I follow.

There isn't anywhere to plug anything into my speakers - it's just a subwoofer with a bass knob and the inputs from the satellite speakers. No Aux In or anything like that.

I don't have any other program running whilst using Cross either since getting the Pro 2. I have an RCA to jack cable running from the Pro 2 into the microphone socket of the laptop.

 Perfect!

Ok, I see what you mean. Will have to buy one of those adaptors I think.
