No, that makes no difference. I found that if I'm not in full screen mode, just clicking on the window bar at the top of Cross causes the same freeze.

Seems like a graphics and/or CPU thing to me. After upgrading RAM and seeing how the CPU is fitted in my laptop, I don't think I could upgrade it. I only recently wiped and re-installed Windows 7, so it should be a relatively clean system.

Could try Windows 8?!

May be allowing full cpu cycle : check your energy saver settings.
on-demand and other long life settings won't give you all the processing power of your unit.

Thanks, will take a look. I disabled the Microsoft Battery controller thing (I know that's horribly vague) that was suggested to be disabled in one of the optimisation videos. Will try re-enabling that as well.

Had a look around power settings and found the laptop was set to Balanced rather than High Performance settings. Checked this over and didn't notice anything that would seemingly cause a problem.

Noticed a bit of an improvement. Still had a bit of clipping and cut outs. Still also had a freeze whilst loading tracks, not quite as long though.

You see, I wouldn't deny that it's a potential problem. There's a thread somewhere started by blackbrook where I talk about my issues when I first got Cross.

But this is a new problem. It wasn't doing it before. Either my system has changed or something in Cross has.

Where are you loading your track from ? internal, external, memory card, thumbdrive, harddrive...
Already analyzed tracks ?
What are your cache settings into the Cross preferences ?
