Thanks for the info reguarding sample sync etc, some useful tips,

Reguarding downbeat, yes i have a MIDI setting to activate the beatgrid mode, and some other control,move etc, that work, its just the downbeat command did not seem to do anything, but like is say this is still an area i need to delve into i only spent a short time on this in passing.

I have just been contacted by a moderator i think he is, on the Numark website, he has already requested a list of the MIDI for the 4trak, so i will wait on this, then brave MIDI Ox if this info is not sufficent.

If i still struggle with some MIDI failure, i will have to undertake the arduous task of making my own written list to keep track of my assignments, saying that, i guess i will still have to have some info for other users that may need this mapping.
Their are a couple of ways and scenario's for the mapping of the 4trak, all on personal preference, still trying to find the best way overall to be as complete as possible in my mapping of Cross.

And i must admit I did nearly faulter/stray to traktor mainly for the Fx side of things, but after testing Cross again over the last few days, Cross is just so much more usable on the fly,you can see everything at glance, its not visual overload and it just feel that much more impulsive, I really cant wait to get mixing,
I feel that much more happy now iam resolving most of the Problems.

pride in accomplishment,,no one said we were not going to help just that we couldnt because of lack of familiarity with the unit wanted to suggest checking with Numark(sorry i didnt) so glad you enjoy Cross for the reasons listed and hope that with the help of Numark and any assistance we can give you then a proper mapping can be established for future users,,, keep us posted

Sorry for sounding so negative at first daniel i got quite frustrated after a long day trying, and guess i could have worded things a bit better.

The mini fader i have issues with is probally my main concearn at the moment, i can but hope, their will be a simple soulution after i have learnt more about the 4trak MIDI for that fader,and then maybe Cross support can say yay it should or nay it will not.

as far as my MIDI saving/failure issue, i may have it sussed, still early days, but should find out after another days setting up my mapping, I have been doing my mapping in bits obviously to much to figure out in one go, but what i have just noticed is that if
i do one little section at a time as suppose to a larger section and then copy/dupicate the map to another name each time i have advanced a little, it does seem to be keeping the mapping, not 100% certain, but yesterday i did notice what seems like this behavour,so hoping this will still be working today in the same manor as i suspect.

This is weird because I do all the mapping in one shot and never had this issue.
If you're talking of the minifader at the top, I will see with the NS6/Mixtrak, I guess they're closed in their behavior.

Yes that is correct the Mini fader like on the ns6, if you could relay me those setting you have found work, but i have tried every combination i can manage
nothing for the direct fader/knob as i thought would be a standard and simple assignment it just make sthe fader go irratic shooting all over the place,
So i tried: inc & Dec Normal fader/knob and ajusted setting their and i can then get it to move half way from bottom to top or vica depending on the settings i make,sometimes it will move smoothly providing i move the fader really really slow, i can just not fine tune the settings, but on the whole its more or less just as irractic in its behavour.

As far as the MIDI assignment that keep failing go, i have decided to not assign anything to the Fx section yet.
I get two controllers showing up in my Cross in/out ports, one for the main unit and one for the Fx unit, and so far the main unit seems to be keeping the assignment, its does seem that if i say assign controlls to both parts, it also looses some of the parts for the main controller section -those that i have just made, hence since i have left out the fx unit assignments for the time being, all assignments to the main controller section so far seems to be saving as they should.

I have just been tweeking controls and going over the main 4trak unit to my liking as i have a lot of modifiers for the 4Trak/ns6 and Cross browser, snap,Preview etc using the cruise button to modify on the 4Trak ,but all is almost ready.

So i will be trying the fx unit again, After i finnish this post.
I will try mapping the fx section as a new mapping template
first and see what happens, their is something lost in translation between the control two sections, i do bare in mind to change from each section according for the assignments Fx section to Fx and main to main so no user error their, but i will still try a whole lot of combinations to see what is happenning with these rogue assignment.

But happy so far with main unit less that mini fader.

just to add the main unit goes threw the fx then a usb comes from the fx unit to the PC/laptop, so their could be the confusion.

Okay started early today, and i have found out what is actually going on reguarding the failing MIDI, their is deffinitaly something going on in which the way Cross is recognising these two seperate parts of the controller.

This time round i managed to assign the 4 fx unit knobs to 4 x pad volumes, i then restarted Cross and they where still their, then when doing checks i clicked onto another random map, and then back to my 4Trak map, and the fx unit assignments i formentioned had failed/gone again. I went to look at the 4Trak main unit assignment list, and behold the assignments i had made via the Fx unit in/out MIDI list had all jumped over to the main unit in/out assignment list, but obviously they will not work from their,and as my 4trak and both MIDI sections show up green and as working, In my oppinnion their has to be Problems with Cross itself and the way it interperets this messaging from more than one MIDI device. i can also confirm this from the previouse version of Cross, now i understand fully, as in the past i had also tried adding a second controllers, and these two where behaving in a very similar way, in the past i also tried adding a m-audio UC-33 and on another occasion a korg nano kontrol 2,which on times would just stop working and had lost assignments, so i can now deduct on this third count, it is looking to me like MIDI comunication issue/ maybe a bug with Cross MIDI, but its a lot more evident becuase this controller has one USB/device going threw the other, It would be nice if their would be a simple soulution,
I hope iam wrong in saying its mainly Cross, but that not to say the 4trak has not brought this issue out of hiding so to speak, but in
Ableton,Traktor,Torq demo,and i went on to test with some more production software to see what happenes with MIDI in/out and these two sections of the 4trak, and studio one,reaper and sonar x1 all also manage the 4trak MIDI okay, so this leaves me questioning the Cross MIDI managment.

Can you confirm the usage of two or even three seperate controllers even better without any issues what so ever,and without any mixed up MIDI signals etc, as you test during developement, i mean more than one test,I am presuming you have set up numourous Setups and multiple devices in one go before ? is their anything you can report to me their ? Or has it been sqeeky clean for you ?

But as these are normally locked mapping by yourselfs can you also give me the setup info in writing for the jogs and the mini fadar as well, or send me a NS6 map that is not locked so i can do some more troublshooting, Much appreciated, if this is not possible today can you let me no so i can get on with other things,

I'm very surprise by this because I've done numerous demo with up to 4 controlers running at the same time and no issue even with common command shared (ie play, jogs, faders).

Simply duplicate the mapping [x2] and you can edit the copy, still not receive the NS6, may be next week.

Can you post screen of the MIDI tab with the 4track, because I don't really understand this multiple units in one devices. Some devices have 2 or 3 tabs into the MIDI and I usually work with the first one, not bothering with the others and it always worked.

I had a right lot of stuff going on this morning as i metioned, just kept trying over this morning, and it has just started to work as it should,On the fx unit I have managed 4 pad volumes per deck C/D
4 Control via fx unit buttons, 4 empty via same button and modifier,
and at the same time 4 buttons and with modifier on the main unit for Frequency roll and Mode, I have turned off my laptop a few time, and again just and from what i can see all assignments are still their, iam not holding my breath, no doubt this issue will still show its self soon.

But as far as dupliacting and renaming the mapping goes, i cant do that, becuase if i switch mapping and go back to previous and vica versa this is where it fails and nothing seems to trigger it back working until i re click the mapping already present(But ovbiously not working control wise) at the moment i dont want to temp fate while iam getting somewhere. so once again i am just working off one mapping template, once i have manage/if, i will test out this theory i have again, something is deffiniatly triggering off this issue, some conflict, weather it be Cross,the 4Trak section or my PC or a combination, at least we know it can work, when it wants to. But deffinitaly not a user assignment issue as i keep mentioning all the existing mapping/the origianl assigned CC are still showing and the 4trak is still indicating MIDI messsages via both 4trak unit in/outs.

Yes i have two MIDI tabs showing one for the main unit and the second for the fx unit, but i can only asssign if i keep each assignment to it own, with the 4trak i can not do as you metion and do all from the first tab, i tried to explain this in the previouse post's, but now i know you refer to this section as MIDI tabs i can better explain, but thats all it is! two tabs for the 4trak, but each is independant, no Cross assigning between the two is possible, although in some case asignments from the fx also show up in the main MIDI tab, not that i can edit them from their.and on times they do not show up at all and vica versa from main assignments can also show up in the fx tab, but not available to edit.
If you still need a screenshot, i can take a few, but maybe best to wait until monday and if it fails again, if so i will take my time and do some comparision screenshot of both tabs and some assignments befor and after etc.

Pity you did not order the 4trak, becuase the 4trak main unit is the exact same one as the ns6 with no MIDI changes either, and you can take off the fx rack it only fits on with two hand usable knuts
and once this fx unit is remove, its usb will leave the main unit as standard, no bypassing thru the fx unit.and as its not bought for serato lol, you dont need the firmware for that_ unless
I will check in sometime before 3pm uk time to give a last update on how its going.

1) What would you suggest i try first, i would have thought Bidirectional Touch ??

Okay i think i have the first two steps:

Bidirectional +

Event __________________ Control
N2C CH2 Backwards
CCO CH2 Forward
PW CH2 Touch

So just stuck trying to fine tune the presets options, as it is so Finnicky using my mouse to fine tune the backwards and forward. judging from past encoder and rotary variations, the Backward range begin has to be one inc to left from center and the Forward range Begin one dec to right of the center, I am hoping this is correct, seem sto be almost working, just not fine tuned enough,

what is the Note value first inc left of center for backward range begins ?
and the value for first dec left of center for forward range ?
Like is say i just dont have enough mouse control or mouse scroll even at it lowest to fine tune my settings, Any advice on these value, i expect you know these two value's, Unless of course i have the wrong idea for the jogs in this case,but either way these values are good to know.

Sorry for the myther, iam geting so near, if i get this sorted, iam up and running less the mini fader but i can work around that,at least i can finally get some mixing done.
