Tag Editing Problem (way off topic & Rated R)

I wonder if anyone can help me with a problem I'm having?

I created a smartlist to show any tracks that did not have a year assigned to them, with the purpose of filling in the correct information. However, when I double click on the year field, it rarely lets me do it. This is not always the case - some times it works, some times it doesn't. I have found that it WILL let me input the year after several attempts, but it is annoying having to do that!

Any ideas?

maybe change your mouse-sensitivity?

dunno, i´ve heard several people saying the double-click annoys them, but i never had problems so far.

you also could try being more gentle as with the ladys

The clicking isn't the problem.

I double click and the box turns yellow to edit, I enter the year, but as soon as I hit enter the box goes back to being blank!

AS for being gentle with the ladies, well I AM a gentleman!

Bad input? Do you run as Admin?

Yes. Strange that the problem is very random, it might be fine for one track but not another.

Also, I've found that if I edit another track, then go back to the original and try to edit that, it works!

EDIT: This only happens in the 'Year' field, the others work fine.

I found no problem with any track tring to change the date field. Did try to do it (date) when selecting details in info tab?

Sounds like a random thing in explorer, as ive tried to stuff around with what your problem is, and it seems ok on my end...

no but seriously, could be a random bug in Win7...
what edition you running? 64?32?home?pro? not that it will make a diff now that i think about it....(as ive got 2 pcs ;one running32 pro, and the other64 home ed) im a little stumped

Just had a thought : Maybe might be to do with ID3 tag....as in ID3 versions.
Are all they 2.4 ? or you got some 2.3's in there?
Thought it might be an issue - correct me if im wrong any1..
