Yes, just a few days ago I made a change to the latest Version 1.7.1. like it was recommended by another Cross User. So, the probs occured way before that - over half a year ago! -> See earlier entries within this topic!

A l l relevant tweaks like disabling (background-) services, switching off network adapters, aero peak, etc. I applied a l r e a d y ! ! !

And it didn´t really help!

Before I got my new laptop I was using a computer that was slightly below the recommended spec and I had the same problem. I decided to scan my entire collection at a time when I wasn't actually using the PC for anything else - it took a long time, but the problem never returned. Every time I added to the collection I just scanned the new ones.

It does take many hours to scan a large collection, but once it's done you don't have to do it again. A boring task, but well worth doing.
