Gamebooster wil run mixvibes and shuts down an optimize Your computer for the best performance.
After you're done, exit mixvibes.
And Gamebooster will bring Your computer back in normal mode.
(hope this helpes à bit)

Before using Gamebooster, try to get some info on this program. You must costumize it for your needs, so be careful with it.

It is a free BTW.

Hey Mixvibes Family,

thank you so much for all kind suggestions and tips! I forgot to mention that I have a second program running sometimes which I´m using together with an external controller. Bought End of last year. But when I´m using it then my U46MKII Soundcard is (of course) n o t connected and Cross is n o t running either. But maybe some relevant background services might interfere...(?)

All real helpful recommendations I was applieing already, but the problem still persists...Sometimes you can hear these dropouts more and sometimes less. So maybe I´ll try gamebooster, make it run and see how it works afterwards.

Best Regards

Ray

Can you give us some insight as to what do you use this laptop for?

If you have a dedicated laptop, we can reduce the running processes to a bare minimum so that all the resources go to Cross. If you don't, and I understand it's not something everybody can afford*, it will be difficult to pinpoint what the issue is.

May I suggest you try while disabling everything related to network?

What does the DPC Latency Checker look like? how big are the spikes and how frequent?

*although a dual boot is still an option

Hey Mixvibes Family & Crew,

Last few days I was testing my system in and out and tried out
everything to optimize it which was possible and suggested by you guys. But still - unfortunately the problem won´t go away.

That means I´m still experiencing dropouts during session. To make sure n o t to have any crackling sounds while I´m playing I´m analyzing the tracks b e f o r e I play. Because when one deck is playing - while I´m analyzing the track on the other deck - there you go - I almost a l w a y s I can hear certain sounds I actually don´t wanna hear! ;-)

Besides that - maybe that´s interesting - analyzis takes from a few seconds to almost 2 Minutes (!) depending on each and every track (not talking about wav - basically it´s all em pee three!) It really seems that I have to live with the problem...

Though If somebody should have an Ultimate Idea to fix it - please let me know - appreciate! I hope Mixvibes will include some serious bugfix issues in the next Cross updates - It cannot be that before I´m able to play out that I have to apply so many different troube-shooting issues - the software should take care of it instead! This is my personal opinion!

Best Regards Again

please look at my user´s profile.

Intel Pentium Dual T3200 @ 2.00GHz
you're barely at the lowest possible specs, you would need heavy tweaking to have a nice experience with these.

O.K.if you say so, but only 2 questions due to the specs:

1) how come it worked before almost perfectly and I n e v e r xperienced stuff like this before half a year

and

2) why is it running without any probs even on netbooks with way lower specs?! Really wonder why...!

Maybe I´m gonna soon quit using it - probably switching to another program which carries less complications with it...or going back to analog vinyl for good!

Done!

Bye

Did you change anything on your system?
Have you tried raising the sample-buffer?

Yes I did. Go to the earlier entries to see what I applied! But they did not gain any measurable progress. Raised the latency and the sample buffer rate to the max in both, Cross itself as well as in the U46MKII Control Panel. After that I switched the values again to how they used to be before. But I always had to listen to audio dropouts while testing them...

I've just had a thought about something that might help you. It's possible that disabling the Aero theme might help - it does free up some resources.

Here's how to do it:

1. Right-click on the desktop and select Personalize.

2. Select Windows 7 Basic theme and a "Please Wait" icon appears and changes your theme.

Hope it helps.

1) May be you did something on your system or a setting have changed
2) May be they're tweaked to the bone

Try DPC latency checker to see what is happening, switch off wlan & lan, switch power scheme to 'desktop/max power'.

I have never seen a system changing behavior without an external events : computer is not magic.
