Keyboard shortcuts & active/focussed window (resolved)

Postby yeswehavetheright on 08 Apr 2012, 09:23

I've just upgraded from Cross 1.5 to 1.71, and the keyboard mapping setup appears to behave differently.

I need to set up button A to load the currently selected track in the browser window to deck A, and the same again for button B (except to deck B). Sounds simple eh?

In v1.5 this just worked - cool. However in the new version, I first have to highlight the track in the browser window then click onto the deck window with the mouse before button A/B will load the track.

So it seems in 1.71 there is an issue around focus/active window that I don't understand. All i want to do is map button A/B to immediately load the highlighted track!

Any ideas?

Cheers!!

  not near my comp ,,check the key board mapping between the two versions of the software  that where the difference is,,,you can make a mapping and try out what you find,,to see if it works,,ie duplicate the mapping from the arlier ver to the newer version to see if it works the way you want,,you can play around /edit the mapping duplicated in the newer ver and not mess up the program, because the original mapping is un editable, andthe duplicate map you can delete and change to your whim   there is info in the user manual on mapping and how to setup and duplicate mappings to edit,,all of this you can try untill the weekend is over and someone from the company that has the info /resources lets you know exactly  have set up mappings myself and although can be bothersom there is pride in accomplishment

hey dude, how's it going? thanks for the reply.

i did that. it just seems that my mapping only works when the focus is on one of the decks (in fact it doesn't matter which). this isn't the case in version 1.5. It's almost as if when I'm in the track/browser window my custom mappings are being overidden. for example, when I press A the highlight bar goes to tracks beginning with A (rather than load a track).

the default mappings do work as i expected (ctrl+Shft+arrow left/right). I've tried editing these but they then behave incorrectly like i described already.

Cheers

I can get ctrl + shft + A to work, which seems to bypass the focus/overide issue. But ideally I just want A

Ok got it - I think.

The mappings work correctly if I'm working inside a playlist. If I'm in the main Collection window it doesn't work.

  just got to my software ,,,one thing i noticed that the mapping ver are 1.61,,the mapping i made is labled 1.4,, probly created and carried over from that version  unless one of the teck has better info and you still want to alter the mapping dont see why you can alter it so that A loads player A and B loads player B,,remember that duplicating a mapping and editing it doesnot alter the original and you can delete it if it become bothersom
and dealing with the aspect there is a different mapping for the same aspect between the 1.61 and the 1.4 and probly is also a difference between the 1.5   hope this has helped you reach your desired outcome
