Controller (maybe) not recognised by Laptop

Postby dahurd on 24 Jan 2012, 18:10

Hello, I have recently bought your U-Mix Control product and am having trouble setting it up with my laptop. I have had it working but not consistently.

If I plug it into the laptop & turn it on all of the controller lights light up once & the only light that stays on is the orange power light. If I then start the Cross DJ software that opens up okay but moving any comtrol on the controller does not move any control on the software screen and no further lights light up on the controller and no music plays out.

I have checked & the U-Mix Control Pro is listed as default sound device on the laptop.

I have had the set-up working but last time it took me 90 minutes of opening & closing Cross DJ & turning on & off the controller & plugging in & out the USB.

By the way I have updated to the current (1.7.1) software.

Thanks in advance!

Your U-Mix must not be the default sound card use as default the internal one

Okay, now I have tried again and I think I can see the problem.

I Plug the controller in first (switched on) and then open Cross DJ. Although the U-Mix Control Pro is plugged in & the light cycle has finished I look in Cross DJ under:

Preferences>MIDI Controller & nothing is listed.

It says No MIDI device available - Please connect your MIDI d!evice

Have you upgraded the firmware, and also do you choose U-Mix asio?
2nd connect/power on the U-Mix after the PC has fully booted,
Otherwise windows might not be able to load the MIDI drivers correctly.

Ok so I went to download the firmware update & I also checked the firmware I was running. Before the firmware update 4 green LEDS & 2 red LEDS after the update exactly the same so I reckon that I have the latest version of the firmware. Still no luck, the controller does not show up in Preferences & MIDI devices.....

Try downloading and installing the latest Driver/Control Panel

PC

[PC] [WIN XP, VISTA, SEVEN] U-Mix Control Pro 1.0.3 Volume Panel

MAC

[MAC] U-Mix Control Pro 1.0.3 Volume Panel

See if that helps
