Out of 4 years club residency i can tell you its never plug & play.

The guy before you might bring other stuff, use turntables, change the wiring to his needs etc.

If you need to play at 10pm be there at 9.30.
20 minutes set- up, 10 minutes soundcheck.

Playing b2b can be a real nightmare if you dont know the clubs setup or the other guy and even If you do It can he nerve-wrecking.

So unless you pack a case with everything set up to your needs where you just plug in the cables there is no such thing as plug & play to my experience.

Sad but true!

Yes I did. As I saw, the level was distored, and Timecode didn't worked well. I don't think the CD is wrong.
Pitch was slowly reacting, Cue was not working, and loops also didn't.

With vinyl it worked perfectly, and very accurately.

I tried with CDJ 800 MK2-s.

O ly thing to do is turn down the cdj output, if you then do the changeover noone will notice.
The guy after you might only have to turn up the mixer gain a little.
No big deal :)

Edit: the 800s have fixed level output, youll need the attenuators....

For being more flexible you might create a voltage divider. You can build it easily with a resistance and a potentiometer. So you are able to adjust the volume manually.

The Question: Does U-Mix 44 has a RIAA corrector on the input?

THX for the answer! ;)

DzsoniB wrote:That is not the case. I don't own those CDJ-s. And I won't spe time before a gig setting them up.

I just need a "Plug it in and works" thing, and I'm done. And the DJ coming after me must set it back...

You should have start with this statement. Now I understand your issue : you need to swap back and forth from vinyl to deck on the U-Mix44 while playing.

If you lower the input level on the U-Mix 44 and raise the gain into Cross when in vinyl, I know you'll get more background noise, but can't you then operate both setup ?

I'll try to do some test tomorrow to give you some numbers.

OOOkkkkkkkkk now I've got it.
Even with the input level @ 0 or 1 into windows, the signal is still clipping into Cross when in bypass mode with the CD.

EDIT : you need to change the software preamp settings and it is ok
