No sound on replay VinylRipper

Postby Macvibes on 18 Jan 2012, 15:54

I have just installed Mixvibes VinylRipper.
I am able to make acceptable sound files from a vinyl using USB Audio codec, with sound either from my hifi set up or directly from my portable computer system.
However I have no sound when capturing a track or even afterwards on the following menu screen allowing you to read the file. I see the length of the track and the time progressing whilst the file is read, but no sound.
Since I can hear the file after it is saved the problem does not seem to be a wiring problem.
But no sound while ripping the vinyl is very inconvenient.
Does anyone have a solution?
Thanks for any assistance you can give.

No experience in Vinyl Ripper, but from what I have read it is using Audacity to record, right? If so go the the settings of audacity and activate "Software Playtrough - play track while recording" from the Audio I/O register card.

However I am not using Audacity but VinylRipper version 1.1.4. which does allow me to save a file which I can then read with several programs, Audacity for example.
My problem occurs before a file is saved.
The VinylRipper program does show a read file capability before saving the file, but I get no sound from this.
Also when deciding to stop or start capturing music from a vinyl I have no sound.

You might try to open your audio settings in Windows and see if the Line In fader is set to zero. If so increase it to the max. Then you should be able to hear your records.

Cheers,

Steve

EDIT: because of you nickname: if you are using a Mac there must be something comparable ;)

There is indeed a slight bug into the Vinylripper that don't allow the outputs to work.
The only workaround I found for now is to use ASIO4ALL as audio driver.

And with this settings

you still cannot hear while ripping but on the next step you can listen to the tracks before saving them.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
