Cross + U46MKII not working -> Windows7 64Bit

Postby FlippAtSpace on 27 Dec 2011, 21:55

I always get an error when trying to load a track into a deck:

Track can't be loaded - Please Check your Audio Settings.

Under Win7 32 Bit it works fine.

I used the MV drivers. System was reinstalled. Error is the same

There is a driver on the ESI homepage, you can try this one. Although it is exactly the same as the MV driver (except artwork), the MV driver sometimes does not work on some machines.

OK I fixed it. There was another USB Device which uses another 100mA on that USB Bus. Strange behaviour, but now its working fine.

I tried the ESI driver as well, but it was the same error.

Thanks!

hey,

some general information:
An USB Host (your machine) is limited to 500mA per host-prt (notebooks normaly have one or two host controller with one or two usb-ports)
When you now connect the U46MK2 to one host and like a mous (round 100mA) to the same controller the bus has not enough power to run both systems.
So you have to check those errors ;) some controller give you information that the port is full powered and not working with more devices (expensive systems) but the most controller are not the expensive controllers so they don't give you any information ;)

So if you want to run more devices with more power you have to use an active USB hub to get enough power for all devices on the bus ;).

regards
Christian

I will try using an external power supply for the U46MKII as I have some strange noise when I connect the power supply of my laptop, I hope that this is away, when I use an external PS.

Any experience with that?

No there is not! So does anyone know if the noise will disappear, when I use an external PS?
