Loading tracks using keyboard

Postby blueandy on 26 Dec 2011, 12:25

Hey there!
I have a problem, while performing using an external mixer & timecode:
I' ve decided to use my laptop keyboard for loading tracks in players, rather than dragging them using the mouse, but it seems that it can't stand it, because it makes some serious gaps "on air", not good apparently...
I use a 12ms buffer, that worked pretty fine for me till now. Even if I increase the buffer a little, problem still remains.
Using Cross 1.7.1 (tried sync meters switched off or on, doesn't make any difference)
Windows 7 SP1, LG laptop, Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8GHz, 2MB RAM
Anti-virus disabled. Using external HDD.
Any suggestions?

I'm using the U46 MK2 sound card.
My system meets the minimum requirements (I've been already using Cross Mix pack for professional purposes for over a year).
My tracks are already pre-analyzed.

Using it "for professional purposes" does not mean anything, even using it for a year! If you do not have optimated your machine for audio sofware, as daniel already mentioned, you will always run into those "gaps", glitches and cracklings. All we can do is to recommend to optimate your machine, after that it runs perfectly as all our machines in here do.
Finally let me add that your specs fullfill the minimum requirements (!!!!!!!!!) so without optimization you will always have to deal with this issues, loading tracks with your mouse, with the keyboard or with a MIDI controller.
Viele Grüße,
Cheers,
A plus,
Steve
