U-Mix 44 (Sometimes works and sometimes not)

Postby gd4223 on 08 Dec 2011, 02:48

Having issues with sound.

Serial # h/w M101100411A

Issue = Somedays it works fine and other days it cuts out. My setup never moves or changes.

Setup = Compaq Presario CQ50 Notebook PC ( 4GB Ram, AMD Athlon Dual-Core QL-62 2.00 GHz, Vista SP2)

(Laptop > USB U-Mix44 > Mixer)

I use Numark Cue, but this issue also occurs when using software provided. On my Numark Settings I have the soundcard set to ASIO Driver. ASIO Config is 2048 buffer size. Please let me know if I have this setup right. Somedays it works flawlessly and others, like today, it cuts out. Its getting frustrating. The sad part is that I can use my laptop soundcard and my backup Gemini iConnex, and everything works fine.

Hey,
Have you disabled the power management for the USB ports?
I have no idea why other cards can run better with your software.

Lowered to 512 and now there is constant crackle sound. Better but not quite there yet. I tried lowering it more and it got worse.

Ok, your cpu is on the lower side of the specs.
Vista is not known to have good performances over XP and Seven.

So you'll need massive optimisation to get that computer running fine.

Hmm. So my computer meets the requirements but you are telling me that since it is on the lower end of the specs that I need to optimize my computer. I will go in and delete programs that arent used. I will check all the startup items too. Hopefully that works.

You could try this

http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html

It is designed for gamers but you'll find the link on a lot of DJ forums.

It will turn off some of your OS services you don't actually need whilst using your DJ software ( in a couple of clicks of the mouse)

Once you are finished, go back into the game booster program and re-able all the services it turned off ( again, in a couple of clicks)

I used the program when I had Vista. It worked well for me.

Thanks Jim. I will check it out.

I spent last night defragging, deleting old programs, and files as well. About to give it a test run.
