If I understand correctly, you create a smartlist and you add the folders to that smart list. I tried that before but didn't manage. But i'll try it again. Because this would be a good thing; a smartlist and instead of adding rules about BPM, GENRE.... you can add a rule; 'add following playlists and/or folders to the smartlist', so you have a combination of multiple playlist. cheers, i let you know.

I created in Smartlists > a new Folder. Then I can only add smartlists to that folder?
- Smartlists - My Maingenre (Folder) - Subgenre 1 (smartlist)
I need for example:
- My MainGenre (Folder) - Subgenre 1 (Playlist) - Subgenre 2 (Playlist)
and if i select the folder with the maingenre, I see the music of subgenre 1 and 2 combined.

No it doesn't work like that. You need to do the sum of your rules from each smartlist.
Here an example smartlist 1 : genre is electro smartlist 2 : genre is electronic smartlist 3 : genre is electronica
If you want a smartlist that have all that you need to do something like smartlist alpha : genre is electro + genre is electronic + genre is electronica
This is the sum of each rules of the playlist you need to have together.

I was afraid that this was the only solution... Yet my tags are not set correctly and i try to avoid that because I have to do this for all the new music I add (weekly base)
Also the choice of my collections (folders/playlists...) is not always strict per genre. It's more like songs that are structual possible to mix, if you understand.
Yet, thanks for the explanations and help, but my request remains specific: I should be able to create rules in smartlists to choose specific playlists instead of genres. For me this would be a great added value. OR: If you click on the folder which contains 3 playlists, you see an empty screen, so no use. But maybe it's a quick win in the development of Cross to see all songs of all the playlists in that folder.

Having correct tags is a must if you want to take full advantage of the digital management. And you can still have your structured folder.
You can do smartlist even with location as a parameter. I took genre but you can do it with any available parameter.

wow, this would completely solve it. Because my file structure is the same as my folders/playlists.
Nice. It's even better than expected: I should use smartlists instead of playlists, but with a rule on location. So If I add a file to my file structure, it will be automatically added to my smarllist.
Big up!

Yes, that's why I didn't understand at 1st where were the issues.

I checked this, but I don't see a rule in smartlists to choose a certain location. Or am I that stupid?

Arf... it's have been removed, I have it in an early alpha but it apparently didn't take it to the final stage.
Will see if it is possible to finish it and put it back into a next release.
