Problems connecting MIDI controller to mixvibes

Hi, I have a sirus pro x-con micro DJ MIDI controller and I can't get it to work with mixvibes. It came with the mixvibes cd installation and cd key which worked, but when I connect the MIDI controller it just flashes the buttons lights and I get no response from it anymore. All drivers were installed with no errors and my laptop recognizes when I connect and disconnect the usb. Also tried virtual DJ but it also didnt work. I think the problem is in the controller because it can only flash the lights for less than half a second and after that it's not working.
Can anyone help me out?

First of all thanks for helping out. The CD came with Cross DJ LE 1.6.0.

It has been discontinued but i bought it used and it doesn't look damaged.
I have windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1. I thought it could be because the usb isnt providing enough power, but i have a focusrite scarlett 2i2 that works just fine with usb so maybe that's not the issue. Also tried with both usb 2.0 and 3.0.

 good i see that you have regerstered the software ,,by chance have you looked in download section if there is a update for your version/bundel ,if not then do so ,,if no update ,,
give me a chance to look over the controller
have you look in the MIDI tab .. for any map avaible
while in MIDI tab with the controller pluged in ,,is it seeing the controller and is a green on line icon on :?:

The controller appears on windows as MIDI 8 and I need to have it plugged in, in order to start Cross DJ so it kinda is being recognized. What do you mean by MIDI tab? All I have is a tab that says "Keyboard" and it has what i suppose is a list of controllers the program recognized, and it only has my laptop keyboard in it.

 my bad ,,forgot this was a le with only mapping for controller ,, not shure where to go from here ,, you see it in the win system as MIDI 8 ,,Cross wont start with out it plugged up ,,
no controls can affect the software ,,meaning that none of the controls on controller make changes in the software :?:

I tried the latest version and i get no response from the controller. It's really strange that i can only get a flash when i plug it in. I shouldnt be getting power supply issues. Maybe it really is broken..

Just some summary to avoid wasting further time...
Only use Cross LE 2.6.
Only use usb 2 port. (many controllers are usb 1.1..)
Check for driver/firmware update of controller. Connect to a different usb port after an update is done.

Please confirm if these are steps you did try...
