I have a Cross DJ on my Macbook pro and for the last 3 years I will have Cross DJ cut out every once in a while. I have switched laptops same problem. I have 3 different controllers DDJ-sx, DDJ-SX2, DDJ-sz, Same problem. Its the sound going out for 3 seconds and then back and then back out again and then fine.

If "dropouts" would define your issue, the solution would be to increase the buffer size of your soundcard in Preferences > audio.

Make sure you use latest drivers for the controllers (maybe also firmware).

If it persists, please provide info on the Cross and OS versions you use. Also a capture of your audio settings could be useful.

If the value becomes to high, meaning you experience delay in responsiveness, you may have to do some tuning of the PC.

HI I have had this problem with the last year of the Macbook pro 17 inch and now with my 15 inch retina late 2013 model. I have maxed out spec's on both laptops. my drivers are up to date and I have also reinstalled my OS on my macbook with nothing but this program on it and it did it again last night. I have ajusted the buffer and the problem is still there

I remember reading something similar concerning USB hubs/ports on MACs...

For Cross to stop there are 2 general causes
- soundcard connection is lost by the OS
- CPU is overloaded

Sc can have multiple causes: connector, to many devices to one usb hub (power problem), usb 1.x and usb 2 devices not working compatible in usb 3 port, powersaving enabled for usb.
If you have a powered usb 2 hub you could try using this.

Cpu overload could be to many other processes active. If you don't use video you could try disabling. Saves a few pct of cpu.
