You could use mine....

What's the other key you combine with the shift. Might be the combination somehow.

 try re mapping them to cap lock and the # ,,used this in a earlier mapping for control of head phone volume and gain volumes ,, ,,try using the numeric key pad , ohh you might be on a laptop ,,, ,,not shure why its not sticking ,,should have to re map key board every time ,,

These are the default for removing locators 1-8 for the active deck.. Works for me; just '&'
doesn't work but that seems a different problem as this doesn't work in more situations (outside Cross).

You may want to try a different mapping source (min PC/L 2.3 vid)

My laptop is a 17 inch so i do have the similar keyboard style to a desktop... i will try the way you suggest mr clark  but i shouldn't have to remap EVERYTIME

i will try a different scheme to see if that works  but the way i have it setup......it should work with no issue unless thats the way Cross is setup for the keyboard scheme

I did mean to say it should work as the key combinations are in use by default.
If you use the mapping editor in Cross you should even get a warning before change is saved when it was already assigned.
