ION Discover DJ works intermittently

Sadly I don't have any update on the problem. I gave up after not hearing back from Ion's customer support and I haven't really enjoyed trying to download software from this website, either. It seems like an awkward partnership between Ion and Mixvibes.

The latest update of Cross discover DJ is there : downloads.php?cat=55

On a side note hardware can fail and in this case the reseller is the more helpful people you can found :
- he can check your unit on his computer
- he can check your computer with an other unit
- he can confirm to Ion that the unit have a strange behavior

Even online stores are nices : you simply send the unit back and they often send you a new one BEFORE have checked the one you sent.

Saddly all this is in a perfect world and some resellers don't act like this (but they should).

Thank You hemskoc for the reply. I'm in the process of purchasing either an internal or external sound card. They have 2 recommended cards and I will look into both. Cheers.

My DDJ doesn't Scratch or Jog when it is plugged into my stereo via a 3.5mm to 3.5mm stereo headphone jack.

When you remove the jack it starts working fine again and absolutely spot on. Works perfect to when you mix and listen via headphones.

What's the use of this if you're the only one who can hear your mixes?

This look like an electrical issue, so it is not handled by the software at all.
Please see with the Ion support for your electrical/ground/hardware issue.

Ok, I just had my DDJ replaced for a new one. Problem is still there.
when plugged into an external output (ie: stereo) the scratch/jog doesn't work.

When it is not connected and only playing through the built in speakers of my macbook or just headphones–everything works perfect.

I am running on snow leopard OSX 10.6.4 on a 2Ghz C2D w/4Gb of RAM. Also the output is routed out to my stereo via a Numark IO DJ Audio interface.

Any help in solving this riddle would be very much appreciated.

Remove the Numark DJ I/O from the setup and use the Mac soundcard to go to your stereo.
Do you still have the issue ?

when connected via 3.5mm from macbook to stereo, the problem still occurs 90% of the time. It's like hit and miss, most of the time it's a miss.

Did you see any differences with the Macbook on main or with battery ?

I tried it plugged to the wall and on a full charge. Makes no difference, platters still don't work. could it be snow leopard? I'm running on 10.6.4 .
