Can I still use my old vinyl records

Question,

Can I still play my old vinyl records with my mixvibes DVS7 set-up? If yes, how?

When I put on an old vinyl all i get are strange sea like noises.. Is this because mixvibes is not compatible with vinyls (as serato) or ar my configurations set wrong?
