Oh really??? Never heard of that before. If this is not fullfilled I will never every buy that hardware! Did you switch the jog wheel senstivity? Read and saw elsewhere that this would do the trick?! I am looking forward to your answer, to me your (and everybody else's comment using the VCI like a CDJ - woooo bad gramma I guess, sory for that!) statement is essential! I will be very thankful for any comment Greetings, Steve

If you want to use your pitch with a better precision, you must do +6%/-6% : higher values lack in precision because of the 127 positions allowed by the MIDI protocol.
I think it is the same problem for all consoles using the MIDI protocol.

There must be some way around it! Im sure Phaded, or someone else has encountered this hurdle before - What is the default pitch bend in Cross (software, not hardware) at the moment? If not through a script, do you think that it could be changed in the software? There must be a way to increase the 6% that the 127 in the MIDI scale seem to hold this limitation to. Cheers

To me there is only one reason in using a MIDI controller: I want to mix more precise! Years ago I mixed with Pioneer's CDJ 200 and a pitch resolution of 0.02% at a range of +/-6%. This was the most precise mixing I ever did. If you are mixing electronic music you try to make the longest transitions (more than 1:30 minutes) and so a very precise pitch is gold! After I switched to ableton and then back to vinyl I bought a Denon DN-S 100 that was unprecise with its 0.1% pitch resolution so that I had to pitch bend very often. Now using Cross and vinyl control I can mix good, but I know that mixing with CDJs is more precise. I thought that I can use Cross' 0.01% pitch resolution with a MIDI controller but now I see the problem:
-6% to +6% in 0.01% steps means 1200 steps = 1200 different MIDI commands and I know no MIDI controller that can adress so much
So I think the dream of the vci bursts...
Thanks a lot for your help!!!!
Greetings,
Steve

Yeah i see your point - its just not going to be that accurate with 127 points between -6 and +6 of the pitch control, but i suppose if its only to 'bend' the tempo temporarily, then not so bad - but to lock the bpm...sounds harder than my Stanton str100's! . I wonder how many 'contact points' in comparison are on a 'technics 1200' (8+ to 8-) pitch slider in comparison (the sensitivity of the slider increments) ? Nice work Steve Cheers
