mmmm Sounds like you need a 'preamp', or be able to change the sensitivity(gain) of the hi-z input...(your guitars pickups/electronics are not very good im guessing)
*Im not sure if you can do this with the u46 software; Somebody correct me if im wrong.(i dont use a u46)
The easiest way around it is to use the 'line out' of a guitar amp, or effects pedal that will boost the signal up before it gets to the soundcard.
