Post a config report if you are having a technical issue (preferences > config report). make sure both needles are on the record anf that your pitch is at 0

and give us some infos about your system (win 7 oder xp / vista)

The U46 is off or not plugged and any drivers in the world will change that.
Can you see the device in your devices manager ?

yes I can but the program dos not recognise it. On my old laptop with a 32bit vista was ok.
