[solved] sound issues with Cross

Postby kazz on 20 Feb 2010, 21:52

hey guys,

this is a quick query, when i play my music through Cross there is a slight glitch in sound that is being output from the software. Also when i hit the queue button from my cdj is does not start from the exact queue point maybe a few seconds ahead or behind any way of resolving this issue.

Hi kazz,

The slight glitch might be from too low of a latency setting / or you may just have too many processes running in the background. I'm not a CDJ user, so I'm not sure about your cueing issue, but Support@Vibes might know what's going on.

Cheers,

Hi kazz,

please describe the glitch you are hearing during audio playback, would you call it a drop out or audible interruption with some sort of nasty sound?

you may find the reason for this is one or both of your NIC devices, try disabling your LAN and WLAN adaptors while running mixvibes.

Your cue problem,

first of all, make sure the master tempo on your CDj is set to OFF. Also in Mixvibes make sure your vinyl control mode is set to absolute.

please take the time to check the cueing function with out external control, ie. switch vinyl mode off and use the mouse and GUI to set a cue point and play from it.

also, use the cueing feature of your cdj's with a normal audio cd to ensure there is not an issue with it..

let us know how you get on,

regards,
Bryan

Hi

I met today with a similar problem - sounds like this:
http://dubstepforum.pl/wrzutka/Untitled_CROSS_PROBLEM.wav

for a moment the track runs faster than timecode, this is happen only i right player in Cross (ver 1.3.2, u46mkII set to line input) (master tempo - off, Absolute mode, calibration ~99%) and to test turntables were crossed left and right)
Nie pomagam na Privie / No support by PM.
The rules are simple, no license key=no support!

it is strange that this only happens with the right deck, have you tried using only the right deck with the left deck deactivated in mixvibes?

10.6.2 + U-Mix44 + Cross 1.3.2 + CDJ1000mk3 : working like a charm here...
You need to put the input level of the U-Mix44 to 0 in the system preferences.

Check your conection, you're loosing stereo for a moment on the inputs side.

hey guys,

ok ive tested normal cds to check whether there is an issue with my pioneers but there isn't as the cue function works perfect. the glitch that im gettin is a drop out.

the issue im having with the cueing function is that when the cue button is pressed repeatedly is will never recognise the actual cue point saved and would start slightly early or late, which messes up my mixes. i checked this process using cds and had no issue.

looking at the youtube videos of mixvibes Cross users this issue doesn't happen to them. im finding it very hard to tke this software with me to my giggs because of this issue. if there is a solution please let me no, because i know this software is one of the best out there but just is not working right for me at the moment.

regards
Kazz (look forward to the advice and help)

@Kazz : let make this clear.

On the CDJ :
- press play start the track
- press pause stop the track
- press cue set the cue

Now that the cue is set on the deck :
- press play start the track
- press cue stop the track
- play with cue as you wish.

I never touch the computer for this and it work.

As I told you before set the inputs level in the system preferences for the U-Mix, it might be set too high.
