Apologies if I am wrong then - after all I do not own either product, so I am only trying to convey information I have gathered myself
If I am correct, the sound CAN be output from the CDJ? (As in the diagram of your site) If so I only recommend this based on david's question:

I have a similar question, so i don't see the need to open a new topic.. I have 2 CDJ 400 players and an external mixer, and i am reading that mixvibes hid support for the mentioned players is really good. I am a bit confused though. Which software do i need to buy and will the software be enough, or do i need the hardware (soundcard) aswell? Is the full hid compatibility available only in Mixvibes DVS / Producer, or is it the same with Mixvibes Cross and Mixvibes Cross DJ?

Today there are full compatibility only with DVS / Producer with no need of sound cards other than the included Pioneer CDJ-400 Later this year Cross will be also fully HID compatible.
Thanks for all your help! I'm back home and have the cdj's, I've have bought an anologue mixer and downloaded the beta versions of Producer 7.3. This version has no MIDI options for the cdj 400s whereas the old version does. Is this because it's the beta version and not finished yet? Also how do you set it up to work in HID. Again, is it not apparent because it's the beta version? Thanks again! Dave
There is no needs for MIDI with cdj-400 in HID version 7.3 RC Just plug them & use their 2 sound cards in multi audio sound options. It's full plug & play.
Under Windows 7 the latency is lower as it uses the new Wasapi instructions. (Wasapi is the new audio mode defined by Microsoft to get low latencies under Vista & Windows 7.) Wasapi is supposed to be the good mode to replace the old Asio drivers.
Wasapi doesn't need special drivers & use the generic Microsoft drivers.
Not fully optimized for Vista yet (latency is a a little higher than W 7) It uses Audio Kernel mode under Windows XP.
For your knowledge normal DirectX audio needs a least 100 ms latency. With Wasapi you can reach 5 ms or less. (depends of the Os)
Thanks for the info unclevibes. I have set up as instructed and the cdjs are controlling decks 1 and 2 in Producer but the sound is only coming out of one cdj. My CDJs and mixer are working fine with cds so maybe I have set it up correctly? My understanding is that the sound for deck 1 comes out of cdj 1 and the sound for deck 2 should come out cdj 2 and the mixer should work like normal?? I can't work out what I have done wrong! I thought it could be my computer settings, under playback devices I can choose either Pioneer CDJ-400 or 2- Pioneer CDJ-400 but neither solve the problem. Thanks for your help! Dave
