Hello.
I am here on a mission. Well the end of a mission (hopefully). It started with me making the decision to take another step in the digital direction, then searching for the best DVS system for my buck. I am looking at the MixVibes Cross Pack with the u46mk2 interface.
I currently use 2 CDJ-1000's and a Denon DNX1500 mixer. I want to continue to use them and my main reason to go with a DVS, among many, is to have my library of music at my fingertips. Carrying a laptop and hard drive, is much easier than dragging around the over 1000 Cd's (which of course weigh quite a bit).
I have a few questions.
1. I read that there is no "thru" function... so that I could pop out the time code CD and still use my CDJ's as normal. Is this true? That would be a big decider for me. Sometimes I need to use a CD someone provided on the spot that I might not have.
2. Is there an ability to auto cue to the beginning of a track with out having to do it manually? So that if I hit play, it instantly starts.
3. As I have never used another DVS, whats is your guys views on Cross? Comparisons to other similar products?
Thanks in advance,
DJ Michael M

Thanks for the info. I have checked out the demo. Nice interface. But it does no justice to my cause without the audio interface. I've heard that there is a switch for the thru function. I just didn't want extra steps or extra hookups of RCA's to get the results I want. I wanna go out of my decks into box and out of the box back to my mixer. I assume that's how in hooks up. I wouldn't mind a ton hitting a switch to go "thru". I just want it easy. No fancy hookup's. you know? Thanks, DJ Michael M

No fancy hookups required
CDJ into the Audio Interface Audio Interface to the Mixer
Press Bypass button on the software and play your normal audio cd!

Sweet. hanks for the great info. Thinking about dropping the 350 even more now. One more question if you don't mind... I am looking into an external HD. 500GB to 1TB range i think. My question, is USB 2.0 fast enough to stream the mp3 on the fly like what would be needed for Cross? I suppose a buffer would help. Does Cross use a buffer? does it read ahead so that there is never a skip or transfer rate issue? Thanks again in advance.

Just an update: Got my Cross a few days ago, and so far I am fairly pleased. Still getting to use the the software, and just the whole idea of DJ'ing in the digital domain with a computer. If you are thinking of a purchase, you won't be disappointed. Especially for the price, and what you get compared to simliar products. If you are a new user, keep reading the forums!! This is a great community of people that are very willing to help. I have asked a lot of questions over the past few days since I received my Cross Pack. I have had nothing but fantastic help and comments. I wish more forums out there were like this. I can't wait to know the Cross inside and out, and then return the favor to all the new comers.
