Hi Ok I just got an Ion discover DJ with Cross DJ 1.2.9. Its working great except i can't use my headphones to monitor. Im new to this so i dont understand much about soundcards and drivers but i did get ASIO4ALL working which i think i need from looking at other threads.
The problem is that the sound comes from both the speakers and the headphones even when i have pressed monitor, and sometimes pressing it makes the speakers louder for some reason. My computer has 6 audio ports in the back (All differnet Colours) 1 of which connects my speakers. I have tried putting my headphones in all of these as well as the headphones port on the front but no luck. I have also tried all the differnt routing modes.
Could it be because i haven't installed U46MK2 v1.041 (whatever that is)? I have tired but it wouldnt install.
Thanks anybody who tries to help

Im afraid in still confused. That tutorial says i need U46DJ but i can't install it. During the installation at asks me to conect my audio devices, so i connect my headphones and my Ion discover DJ and click next but it keeps saying determing divices failed.
Also i can see my Ion discover DJ listed in the device manager under sound, video and game controllers but theres no mention of headphones there or on the ASIO4ALL control panel, how do i get it to recognise them? Im wondering if thats the problem. Im using windows vista by the way
Thank you

try to help a little bit question what sound card are you using,??installed multi channel sound card ?? what type etc. i have sound blaster x-fi platium .,took me a while to figure it out myself,, asio 4all was the way to go. if there is no headphone connector on the ion controller then the sound monitoring is done thru the software,, then its just amatter of configuration,, check the reference material that applies to you paticular sound card dont think you would have to have drivers for a sound card that you are not using hope this helped some one should be along to give better info welcome to MV fourm

Sorry i could not help you out, Leviathan. It is the Christmas weekend so most of the staff are not around to remedy your problem. You will probably get your solution in the next couple of days, when the support staff from MV get back. I know you just want to use it bad, and have a DJ! Another thing you could try is to un-installing the drivers/program you had previously, clean the registry, and starting from 'scratch' following the 'installation guide' again. There are a couple of other users with other 'Ion DJ' issues aswell, as it is a brand new product, so dont panic - you just need a little patience. cheers

I think my soundcard is intergated into the motherboard and is called realtek high definition audio. Is this perhaps not able to monitor? If so what features should i look for if i were to buy a soundcard?

is a multi channel sound card ?? 2/2.1, 4/4.1, 5.1 , 7.1,, mine not intergal to the mother board, but its is wired in a a primary sound card. one thing the screwed me up was my monitor has speakers in then and i was powering then up thru the headphone jack ,on the front, which sent all outputs to them so the monitor aspect of the program seemed wrong,,but by finding the correct outputs from the back and using them on the headphone and by figuring witch ones were triggered by the monitoring aspect of the software. got proper monitoring,,use this set up on Cross demo,, asio4all got me to this aspect set my sound card to 4.1 and used rear r/l for the headphones, which turned out to be out put 5,6 on the asio panel.. think i used the alternate dual stero config on the drop down menu play with it and let us know how it goes,, patience, do you see my k button?????

Acording to google search (lol) my soundcard has 7.1 sound playback and 2 channels of concurrent independent stereo sound output through the front panel output. My monitor does have speakers but iv never used them, they are not connected to any audio jacks or anything but il keep that in mind and have a go at those settings you mentioned.
thanks

I believe speakers and headphones are the same output (HD Audio output 1/HD Audio output 2) does anybody know how i could make the headphones either HD Audio output 2/HD Audio 4 or 5/6? (The program crashes if i click 7/8)
