Hello, I hope this is the proper place to report Cross 1.30 RC feedback, since I am not allowed to view the feedback-link that is mentioned in the RC announcment...
Issue: I am not able to get vinyl mode in 1.30 RC to work properly. Calibration always fails displaying an error message (please don't blame me for not shooting it. It's about "...pitch is not 1...", you surely know). Nevertheless I get a signal quality of 100% on both decks. When working with these settings booth decks are very instable and produce a "hauling" sound, pitch going up and down. (as stated below with 1.2.5 everything is accurate, so I got back to 1.2.5)
Setup: Software: Cross 1.30 RC Interface: Omnitronic DDI 4x4 (same behaviour with Maya 44 USB) Driver: 2.8.17.1 (Maya: V2.840) PC: Windows 7 Ultimate 32, DualCore E5300, 2GB RAM TT: 2 x Numark TTX (connected analog via interface, not USB) Vinyl: SPIN! ("MIXVIBES 2B" engraved) ------------------------------------ Using Cross 1.2.5 everything works just fine. Calibration of vinyl is always successful. The only functionality I am not content with is the beatmatch view going to "infinity" when stopping the vinyl and "wobbling" to sync when releasing it. Since this behaviour is changed according to your release notes, and a 45 rpm Vinyl mode is implemented I evaluated Cross 1.30 RC.
Thank you very much in advance for support. Best regards, Barry
Sorry Steve/Barren Fell. I thought you could view the Cross RC bug reports this is a copy of my bug post for u guys: *Calibration Display bug...The calibration works fine, but i get an error "the deck playing speed is not1(ie pitch 0)please reset it & retry" in the calibration window. After the pressing calibrate button, and after the pause, the timecode quality drops suddenly to 70-80%, then creeps back up to the 90's everytime.
It displays 95-100% read with the control vinyl, and it tracks fine without a reset.
cheers

Interestingly, the 'hauling' sound that he mentions is very related to the one I mention here - seems to be an underlying bug affecting everything, it's whatever is causing those warbles, that's causing the calibration to fail, I'll try and see what's happening there.
For the record, this problem, and the related ones to this bug are occurring for me under OSX. Anyone claim for Windows? (To see if the issue could be related to CoreAudio/ASIO)

I got rid of the "hauling" playback by performing a strange workflow: 1. Uninstall every Cross copy 2. Restart PC 3. Install version 1.2.5 4. Install 1.30 RC (did NOT uninstall previous version as recommended) 5. Calibrated vinyls and got the mentioned error message (thanks hemskoc), BUT vinyl mode now works as desired
Maybe I'm now running 1.30 RC with a "1.2.5 vinyl engine" that does not zoom to infinity any more
Seriously, no clue what happened. I have not reproduced this workaround a second time, since I was happy to work in vinyl mode on Sunday. But I will re-test this issue next weekend. Also on a XP SP3 notebook.
Best regards, barry
