personally i use a desktop PC running live 8 and my laptop running mixvibes
i use the redsounds soundbite micro which runs i connect to the record output of the mixer or another output the soundbite send MIDI timecode to ableton based on the tempo from the mixer output
it works kinda well but it aint perfect
but with practise and alot of thought behind your set it is defently possible
