Cross ::: my thoughts

Postby dj persio on 03 Nov 2009, 15:25

Mixvibes Cross,

this is a very good DJ software, easy to use, powerfull, i like it very very much,

but i don't think the same about the company itself,

in their behalf of making what they call "a major update" its been almost 6 months and counting, for many known bugfixes,

and this kind of going if whats got me thinking about this project,

why not do what others company call "maintenance updates, periodically, with whatever bugfixes you have in hand at that moment, i think you dont have to wait, for the pacient to be almost diying to give the medicine, or is it that your busy in other matters like "rekordbox", iknow this is a huge thing for you guys, but if you get into too many things, you wont be able to give QUALITY, to none of them,

we are waiting for the so called "major update" with confident, but i hope, it comes before many, many, many christmas partys, and i hope that i have time enough, to try it on my house before a party and not in it, because guys i think "its getting late""",

Quality, service, good advice, good music, thats what we sell and what i love, but in my case its my way of living, im not a bedroom DJ that can wait a life for improvements and "major updates",

thanks Mixvibes team,

i hopefully trust that this words, are good for a better mixvibes,

DJ Persio,

the only Cross owner in latin america. (as far as i know).

I spent most of my time during the 10 years party in questions to the developpers about the future of Cross. Hopefully I heard what I wished to heard, Cross update is for this month.

Your frustration is understandable DJ Persio, but however it looks like, I can tell you that there are NO MixVibes users left apart...
Cross Developpers are working full time on their update to bring you an advanced update.

Besides, the other MixVibes projects such as Rekordbox are not interfering with Cross development since each ingineer is bent to it's project.
Thank you for your understanding.

I think everybody will agree to say that it's nice to have advanced updates that look like upgrades since they are adding new features and functionalitites for free. we are all thankful for that.

however, what I think is said in persio's post is that bug-fix releases would be as well very welcome.

who knows, the next updates might have its own bugs and glitches because everybody's setup is different and because the implementation of new elements becomes new reasons for problems to appear.

I think it is only benefits for the team to do that kind of updates... customers are happy, potential buyers see that there is follow-up and listenand it gives more opportunities for PR :P

I saw on Laruent's (MixWare) newsletter that MIDI learning will be in the new update as well.
