help with MIDI mapping (scs.3d)

Postby ultra69er on 16 Oct 2009, 04:03

hi all,
this is my first post in the mixvibes forums so bear with me. I recently purchased a stanton scs.3d (or dascratch as it is also known) to compliment me mixvibes DVS 7 setup. I know that there already is a preset in mixvibes to use the dascratch and it works great, but what i really wanna do is use the dascratch to navigate through the mediabase and load tracks etc, just as the serato users do with it. This to me would be the best feature of dascratch as it would make it possible to do a whole set without having to touch the laptop at all!

any help or input would be much appreciated to not only myself but im sure many other mixvibes

cheers

Hi ultra69er,

In the MIDI editor, you can use various commands (SELECT, LOAD) to set up what you're looking for. I'd suggest MIDI learning one button, then editing the commands as necessary to complete your mapping. Let us know how it goes!

i've tried MIDI learn but that doesnt work as items in the mediabase wont highlight after waiting afew seconds to able to map them. i have got the select to work before but only using buttons, not the actually dascratch jog wheel type surface like you can in serato. but even that didnt work aswell as i would have liked as i couldnt select between artists, genre etc to bring up the songs in that catagory (if that makes sense)

may have to take you up on the offer bigibang lol. using the serato preset and MIDI learn you still come into the same problems you do with the generic preset, being that you cant seem to use MIDI learn for anything in the selection screen or the mediabase

The only solution is to do your very own mapping by editing a MIDI config file.
So can you tell me what command don't work for you ?
