I'll send you the script once it's done... In the meantime, answer me this (please!): How the hell do I get my media base to reflect my .mp3 tags??? I'm in a world of hurt here trying to convert my file names to tags that 'vibes can read. At the moment, my files are named like this: KEY - BPM - Artist - Title with tags created from the filename to match (using Mp3tag). When I scan the directory in the mediabase, none of the Key tags are imported (Key field is blank for all files), and instead the Key shows up in the Artist field of the mediabase?!? I'm baffled. All the tags show up perfectly in Mp3tag...

goodness... get ready! with tags created from the filename to match (using Mp3tag). When I scan the directory in the mediabase, none of the Key tags are imported (Key field is blank for all files), and instead the Key shows up in the Artist field of the mediabase?!?
It is normal for Mixvibes to create basic fields using the files names under the following conditions: A) There are no tags present for the mp3 file loaded. This causes Mixvibes to extract the information from the file name, there separated by “-“ in the file name. An example of this is, File name: Your - Soung.mp3 Mixvibes will read the artist as “Your” and the track as “Song” placing them into the appropriate fields in the media base. File name: 01-Your-Soung.mp3 Mixvibes will read the artist as “01” and the track as “Your-Song” placing them into the appropriate fields in the media base. B) The tag is corrupt or written in a tag format that is not supported by Mixvibes. There are some tag writers that do not create tags to conform with the Mixvibes standard, with allot of trial and error i finally found a tag writer that fully supports the Mixvibes media base which is the JID3 tag writer. so far i have only found this writer in Mixshares Rapid Evolution... and fortunately Rapid Evo just happens to be the best batch mp3 ID3v2 tag editor i have found. Oh, and its free! all you have to do is surf the forum a little, the answer is there as i have explained this so many times, L L regards, Bryan

I'm not having much luck with RE. I can't get it to create tags from the filename...

djegun - can you explain a little more? Does that mean that both players will have the same track loaded, and both tracks will be playing at the same point? (IE - if I load track x into player 1, let it play to 1min 14secs, then load the same track into player 2, will it play in player 2 from 1min 14secs?)

No he did not mean that. Clone feature will load the same track on the second player but will not start from the loaded time. It will start from the beginning of the track.
