DVS Installation problems

Postby djfusion on 20 Aug 2009, 15:39

I am following your video, manuals and on screen prompts as best I can but having problems setting up.

I can't alter anything on the U46MKII control panel, trying to mute monitor outputs but nothing responds.

On step 4 of DVS install wizard nothing appears in the boxes for choosing the audio card.

I am finding this much more difficult than I thought it would be.

This was bought by the youth club I work at & my boss keeps asking if it's ready. Please help :-)

Hello,

It seems to be a driver issue. What driver version did you install?

Alright I get it. Uninstall this driver then download and install the latest one: downloads.php?cat=27

Ok. That's solved that problem. Muted monitor & Configured soundcard. I have everything connected as per the video instruction and load a track but get no audio, nothing showing on mixer levels either.

I'm sure at this point I'm asking questions that have you rolling your eyes, but please bear with me :-)

Update. I played the files via the controls on screen & the sound was transferred ok through my mixer. Just not being controlled by the records.

I'll try & get the report...

Ok. Thanks :-) I am now able to control audio files via both decks & the sound only comes through my mixer.

1 query though.. I got 3 control records.1 record in a black sleeve with black label marked side A (1 continuous groove) and side B (3 sets of grooves) also 2 records in white sleeves with white labels marked Track Selection, each side having 12 sets of grooves.

I was expecting 2 records with a continuous groove on each side for whichever track is playing (partly because I DJ D&B from 12" singles with 1 track per side).

Do I have everything I need? If so, how do I play & mix between both decks? If I need 2 of the black control record can I mix both channels on 1 deck? (I think I saw this mentioned).

Finally.. I'd like to be able to change between mixvibes & taditional records during a set.. Is this possible as the decks are already plugged into the U46 so there are no cables free to go in the phono input of my mixer (Allen & Heath Xone:02)

Thanks for your invaluable help so far.
