Please help!

Postby Stevet06 on 09 Jun 2009, 09:10

Please help. I've installed the DVS 7 that I originally bought, as well as downloaded and installed the 7.2 update. I've checked and recheck installation of the software and drivers for the Maya 44 sound card. As of right now, I can load music from to the virtual players, but can not hear any sound or control the sound file. My config report is included below: Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello,

First of all did you calibrate the CD players? Follow the install wizard for a safe and quick setup of your system. Then did you click on the VINYL button of each player to control it with CD players.

Ok, I went back and used the config wizard to set up Mixvibes again. Now here's the problem. When I load a song into one of the virtual players, it starts to move on it's own, giving off a screeching effect. I cannot control the song using the CD players, but if I unselect the vinyl option, it plays if I use the keyboard to hit play. I'm really at my wit's end with this! Any suggestions?

I have CD players (Pioneer CDJ 800) and a Behringer DJX 700 mixer connected. You stated the pre-amp level is false, is this something I can change? I don't see an option for that.

probably arrives some strange signal to the software, in the CD/Vinyl config page can you see something while the cd is spinning? should be two VU-meter that monitor the input level, those levels should be stay within yellow section, and besides it you can adjust the preamplification accordingly.

Could be also some noise on the signal, I experienced the same problems with some poor RCA connector out of my turntable, changed it and everything ran good. could be some grounding feedback on those cables. Do you have the tipical setup?

CD player -> mixvibes soundcard -> DJ mixer ?

I really don't know what else to do. I've reinstalled the update and the sound drivers. I can get everything calibrated and I get sound, but here's the problem. When I load a song into one of the players, it starts to "play" back and forth by itself. If I try to stop or cue the song, it doesn't work. Now if I start play one of the control CD's in one of the decks, it does start to pick up and control the song, but if I try to speed up or slow down the song using the jog wheel on the CD deck, there's a delay in the song responding in the player. If I stop the control CD, it starts to "play" back and forth again like it's out of control. I can control the pitch through my CD decks perfectly though once it's playing.

I really have no idea what's going on. Is it possible that it's my PC. I have a Dell Lattitude 610 with a Pentium M 1.6 Ghz processer with 1 GB RAM running Windows XP SP 3.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I've been trying on and off for a month to get Mixvibes to work.

No that's not it either. I was looking over the sound card info and I noticed something. In the Maya 44 ASIO control panel, the USB tab shows the ASIO resolution as 16 bit but on the ASIO tab it shows the resolution as 32 bit. Unfortunately, there's not a way to change the resolution to 16 bit. Could this be the problem?
