Cross 1.2.5 question about Setting the CUE.

Postby dj persio on 13 Jun 2009, 03:12

hi,

i have configured my soundcard (u46mk2 with the 1.041 drivers and control panel) as usual, routing all my channels, and channel 5/6 to the cue.

what is happening to me is that sometimes one of the main channel mixes with my cue channel and i dont now why.

also i was using the ASIO4ALL drivers but i could not set properly the cue channel, thats why i had to try with the 1.041 drivers.

any help ??

thanks.

i found my own answer,

here is what happenened to me for others to be advice:

I had my keys assigned that when i pressed alt+a loads track on player a, and alt+ b loads on deck b, but this also triggers the cue functions for the players, so be aware that when you assigned key functions not to duplicate the assignates,

"this happens because we don't have a full manual with all the shortcuts, and functions explained in every detail"

well i hope this helps others,

thanks.

I don't really understand... You should have a warning message if you try to use a keys combination already used. Can you explain more precisely please? Thanks :D

that is absolutly right!!! my friend,

BUT, if you have it like i had for example,

alt+a : loads player A
alt+b : loads player B

AND,

a : cue on player A
b : cue on player B

IT DOES NOT WARN YOU, THAT YOU HAVE USE KEYS A AND B, so as soon as you hit alt + A or B, also you are triggering the functions on A and B as well.

So what i'm telling to others is, if assign a key or combination for something, don't use the same keys alone or combine, because you possible trigger something else too.

hope this helps!!! please leave a comment.

Sorry man I couldn't reproduce what you said...
I assigned the alt + a for the player A cue/stop and the alt + b for the player B cue/stop.
I assigned the a for the cue monitor of the player A and the b for the cue monitor of the player B.

if I click on alt+a I only cue/stop the player A and not trigger the cue monitor of the player A... if I click on alt+b I only cue/stop the player B and not trigger the cue monitor of the player B...

What's wrong?

please do it like this, to see if you can reproduce it on your system,

configure:

alt + a : to load track on player A

alt + b : to load track on player B

A (alone / only) : to cue / prelisten the A PLAYER

B (alone / only) : to cue / prelisten the B PLAYER

doing it like this you will have:

alt + a or b LOADING YOUR TRACKS TO EITHER ONE OF YOUR DECKS and since your hitting the A or B keys also you will be TRIGERING the function that you assignet for that keys (alone) wich was prelisten/cue on your headphones.

and since your are not using the same combination the software does not warn of a double use.

(this is my config: using the u46mk2 1.041 drivers, channel 1/2 deck A "line 1 in my mixer" , channel 3/4 deck B " line 2 in my mixer" , channel 5/6 cue " line 3 in my mixer" )

thanks!!!!!!!!! please leave comment

Hi Persio,

sincerely should not happen what happen to you :)

when you press the ALT key on the keyboard, the keyboard (not MV, I mean windows) change the hexadecimal code that will be trasmitted to the OS, so it is not possibile that two hex values will be trasmitted at the same time....
the reason of that should be somewhere else...

if you try to assign other kind of funcion to the single key A or B it trigger anyway what you have just setted? are you sure you do not have something assigned to the ALT key alone?
