Why is my bcd 3000 not compatible with mixvibes?

Postby jarm100 on 03 Jun 2009, 18:16

Man, I miss Mixing.

Still, mixvibes isnt working. I've had it for a few weeks and I still havnt had got it up and running yet. I have literally done almost everythng I can think of. My laptop is in good nick.

1.9gig AMD64
3gig ram

I have reinstalled traktor 3 and all I have to do with this software is select it in the menu and then change the bcd 3000 soundcard from monitor to booth. Then the bcd 3000 works perfectly, therefore the bcd 3000 drivers I have installed must be correct.

I have even gone to the lengths of reinstalling windows and installing mixvibes on a clean sytem, but low and behold, it still doesnt work.

Just to reitterate, I have selected the BCD 3000 in the preferences>options>MIDI

However, I am still having a few issues with my bcd 3000 and mixvibes home 7.

1) The sound is a major issue. I want to use the bcd3000 soundcard for master and monitor. However, mixvibes is having problems splitting the sound. After pressing the cue buttons on my bcd 3000, the headphone icon on mixvibes becomes highlighted. So, I know my bcd 3000 is sending a signal to the software. However, when the bcd 3000 is selected for master and monitor within the mixvibes sound options, the sound being played over the headphones is exactly the same as the master output. Therefore, to listen to the tracks individually over the headphones, I have to use the Cross fader instead of pressing the "cue A" and "cue B" buttons. I have to point out that turning the "phones mix" knob to zero does not change the sound output over the headphones.

2) The "FX control" section of the bcd 3000 does not respond at all on the mixvibes software.

3) the BCD 3000 does not light up at all when the buttons are pressed. I have the BCD 3000 set at "Standard mode" in the ASIO control panel.

4) the "sctratch" buttons do not work.

5) Eventually, mixvibes crashes when I am having a little mix. This sucks.

I do not experience any of these problems when using Traktor 3, but coz of the music i play, traktor 3 sucks. it has a shite bmp counter that never works properly.

I am thinking of getting a VCI-100 next week, simply because this problem gives me a good excuse to get one, but will also get a maya44 soundcard too.

Somebody, please,m help a brother out!

First which version of home do you use, you have a new update 7.21 on download section. You should do it.
Did you try the MIDI learn function of Home instead of the included file. Check about MIDI learning in the support.
The included Beyringer file may need some changes & updates.

Djegun must be abble to give you more infos.

Hey thanks fr the replies guys,

yeah, got the update, so using 7.21. The MIDI learn function does work for some of the controls, but not the FX control section, as none of the buttons on the BCD3000 respond when they are pressed.

Looking forward to the new updated MIDI file. Will be getting the VCI-100 btw, but going to keep hold of the BCD3000 as a toy to mess around on.

Actually if you want to have an output for the master and another for the monitoring with the bcd3000 you need to use the ASIO driver. Unfortunately in the home version you can't use use any ASIO driver (in DVS and Producer version yes)... Otherwise you can use the output of the bcd3000 for the master and the output of your internal soundcard for a preview. A preview is not exactly a monitoring: you can't pre listen a track and listen a track in the master output at the same time. You can only prelisten a track in your headphones then listen it in the master.
Read the manual of the home version to help you.

Find a new bcd3000 MIDI mapping on our download center
[BEHRINGER BCD 3000] MixVibes 7. Read the explanations of the buttons.

The new MIDI file should correct that for some buttons (but not for all).

In the old version the scratch button was used to load a track in a player (for a better use of the controller). But I changed it in the new mapping.
