Can Mixvibes do this?

Postby magico on 04 May 2009, 06:52

I just downloaded the demo and I'm wondering if this is possible, or if there is an option I need to use.

I pre-BPM all my tracks at 132 in Acid Pro 6, then from there I can make a mix. While this works great for promotional cd's, it does not work well live. I've used Virtual DJ before, but noticed a lot of songs were off no matter how well you set the first beat cuepoints, yet they are exactly at 132 and will play on top of each other just fine. I do only electronic 4/4 music by the way. Do I need to set the incoming beats?

I downloaded the Mixvibes Demo and so far like it, but I'm having the same problems I had with Virtual DJ with certain songs. Right now, I try the "Match" button.

What I need to know before purchasing this program, is there a function that starts your songs at the right part of the first beat everytime? I don't need to pitch shift because I've already put them on beat, I need them to be recognized as the exact same beat and start correctly. I find myself having to push "Match a few times to get them to sound correct, and that would not sound good live.

I guess I don't understand why there isn't one program that can get this right consistently, even with your songs at the correct BPM. I used vinyl in the past, but truthfully, found it overall just too cumbersome. I'm not asking for the great debate of electronic mixing vs manual either. Just some help learning the program, that's it, thanks.

practice makes perfect, if all the beats are at 132 bpm, then it's quite impossible to screw it up... pause and play or whatever, just align the sounds, it's not hard now is it?
