go sampling on MVpro 7.2.1! recommend soundcard & MIDI contr

Postby angel valtierra on 01 May 2009, 22:37

Hi everyone!.
;)
I'm looking fwd to expand my gigset to be able to use the sampler.

I'm thinking 'bout buying a nanopad or padkontrol, I've seen there's MIDI file presets for both of them.

The question here is: Do I need to expand my soundcard too? I'm using U46MkII, that's 6 outputs, but I'm using 2-1stereo- for master, and 2-1stereo- for monitor. can I use the remaining 2 for the sampler.

Do I need another soundcard? Can you configure MV to use multiple soundcards?.

I was thinking of the following as a cheap possibility:
-already have-
2-TT Numark w B&W vinyls.
1-U46MkII
1-Behringer BCD3000 -could this be my 2nd soundcard, Imean; can I use it as MIDI controller (mixer) and audio device?
+buy
1-nanopad or padkontrol
1-Behringer FCA202

I thought 'bout the FCA, 'cause it looks like what I think I need; an extra pair of RCA out to rout the sampler into the master mixer through friewire -got no USB free ports-.

The last questions is about the USB power consumption and speed of bus; Is anyone working with hubs? i was considering to split the signal to one of my buses, I think the one that has the BCD has less flow of info, 'cause it's just a MIDI dev. vs. using the hub on the port that has the U46, that is handeling audio signal+timecode signal, etc.

Any Ideas or suggestions are really wellcome.
PS
kind of lost here, but I have the feeling wer'e getting somewhere with this...
Thanks!
