Hi, Ive been playing with Producer 7.21 (on vista, hercules rmx) for a week and there are couple of things I cant figure out. Ive been asked to DJ fri so have run out of time for investigating so any help greatly appreciated!
1-I can no longer right click a track with the mouse to access the "selected items" options. This is problematic as when I load tracks many are coming out at the wrong bpm so I have been clicking on the track in media base, going to the media base options/selected items/analyze bpm auomatically which gives me a correct reading but takes too long when doing a set. Right click still works for control functions like looping.
2-Is there no way to select all tracks in the media base and analyze bpms? The usual holding shift isn't working.
3- Im not sure what to expect when dragging a track from 1 deck to another.
I would think that it would be possible to get a track looping on deck 1 or 2 then move it to deck 3 so that you can use the controller for a new track on deck 1or 2, then use the loop on deck 3 or bring it back to deck 1 or 2 to play out the tune without any changes to the tracks eq's, bpm etc.
When I do this one of 2 things happen. When dragging a track I keep the loop but the bpm doesnt always stay the same. If the fader is in the same place on each deck it normally works but its not always possible to match them.
If I press ctrl and drag and drop then the pitch stays the same but if the track is looping the loop doesnt copy accross. The loop button flashes on screen but the track plays like normal.
In both instances the tracks are quieter when dropped on deck 3.
I thought you should be able to drag and drop tracks from 1 deck to another and back again if needs be without being able to hear a change.

I can’t say i have come across this problem with the new update, when you installed the update was it a fresh install or just over the top of the old update?

Sometimes things can go a bit wonky if you just install over the top of the old update.

If you select one track in the media base then please “Ctrl+A” on your keyboard all the tracks will be selected, this problem is probably due to the previous problem.

Ok, i understand what you are saying here. There are some things you need to remember when using your loops this way.

When using your MIDI controller, the gains and pitch setting are determined by the controller... if you start to move things about and altering the settings in the players then you would end up with miss matched synchronisation between the faders and pitch controls. So to prevent this happening, during the playback of the same tune, the players controlled by the MIDI controller keep the same state as the MIDI controller.

Clone mode doesn’t copy the loop state of the track unless it is saved, it only plays from the time and pitch state at the time of clone. Not being able to loop after clone i think must be a bug, i’ll bring that up with the team.

Just installed over the top so should I uninstall and run the 7.21 install again?

Ctrl+A doesnt work, it just jumps to the last track in the list. Maybe it will work if I do the above?

Dragging and dropping makes sense.

Yes, i would recommend a fresh install of Producer and the new update.

however, you may try something else before reinstalling... with mixvibes open and active press "Shift+Esc" on your keyboard and try using your media base again.

if this doesnt work, then reinstall it is. lol

Yeah that didn't work. Unistalled everything and have now installed the update but its telling me that my serial number is incorrect, despite not being prompted to enter it , when I try to open mv. Any ideas?

now, if i am correct.. you got the upgrade to Producer from 3DEX, yes?

in this case you have to uninstall Producer and 3DEX.. then install 3DEX and Producer (in this order).

why not copy the loop playing in deck 1 or 2 into the sampler

Hi, Ive Uninstalled evrything including 3dex and started again with a fresh install. I had to install the Producer upgrade again as well otherwise I wasn't given the option of entering the new serial. Not sure if this is what you meant but it seems to have worked as Ive had no more problems with right clicking to access "options" etc.
