Cross:: unable to load tracks from the laptop dvd drive.

Postby dj persio on 09 Apr 2009, 21:21

hi all,

this are two of my results from my test yesterday and today,

1 .- loading tracks from a usb memory : successful, no problems at all, will try with a external hd 250 gb to see how it behaves.

2.- loading tracks from the laptop dvd drive : unsuccessful,i can't even see the tracks in the explorer tab, it shows my drive letter empty, then i tried exploring my cd an dragging the tracks directly to the program and got a :

"MEDIA LOADING ERROR"

Any ideas ?

thanks.

Hi !

Just a question, you're not talking about loading a track from an audio CD ? Cause this doesn't work at all in Cross on windows...

By the way, if you tried to load a file (e.g mp3) from a CD-R for example, it should work indeed... we'll have a try and let you know what's going on.

Thank you for reporting !

Hi sylMV,

YES!! that was it, i tried to load tracks from an audio cd...., will it be possible in the updates or this is not on schedule ?

and by the way in the event that i need to play an audio cd, and knowing that i can't do this with Cross (yet), is there anyway to bypass the timecoded signal (and take out the control cds) to play the music cd's in my decks ?

i'm asking because in social events, and family parties many people bring their own cds for the DJ to play any particular song...

thank you !

It'll be certainly possible in the future but i can't say when, as playing an audio CD is really not the purpose of a DJ software, although I understand you need this for parties !!

You can use the software bypass (line in / player switch on the Cross mixer)
or if your exernal mixer has got some extra inputs, use some Y cables to route the CD player output both to the mixer and the soundcard.

The first solution is very simple because you don't need anything more than what you already have !
But the second is a bit more safe as it works even if the computer stops running.
