How Mixvibes could be more used by big djs.

Postby DanceCode on 03 Mar 2009, 20:34

Hello, A few days ago i was doing a warm up for a big DJ of my country and happened something that i think you would like to know:
Everything was ok, and he asked me: Hey man, what's the name of this software? And i told him: Mixvibes. Looks good... it seems to work perfectly - Oh yea I said.
Hi was going to play with serato but the interface has an rca stucked  so he couldnt play. But after seeing the software working he asked me: Hey... do you think that i could use this software connecting my HD and it wont crash or something?? And i said: Yes! Of course, connect it.
He player for 3 hours and no problems, when the party is over he looked at me and said: man! This is so much better than serato, thanks a lot! Where i can buy it? And I showed him all the features of the software. But tha finall question was a good one: What if i lost the vinyls or cds?? Because i've lost them a lots of times. I had to tell the true: You can't buy them on any store here... you have to buy the complete package or you can buy them by internet. After saying that his face changed and he lost the love for the software.

Im on the same problem, my vinyls were stolen and i can't get them on my country.

I think mixvibes works perfectly, i had nothing to say. Anyways... im thinking on buying another software because buying the vinyls is so complicated. Other vinyls softwares you can get them on a lot of stores.

I think you've created a big and powerfull software, now is time you start thinking in big.
If i were a "DJ star" i wouldn't being writing this, i would be buying another software.
Maybe now you can give a solution so i can get the vinyls, would be really cool. But... if i lost them again?

I thinked you should know this.

Thanks

Im on Chile, South America. The only one who ship them to my country the shipment cost is U$78... to expensive.
If i have to spend that money i prefer to buy serato or traktor, then if i lost my vinyls it will cost like U$16.

This really is ridiculous, way too expensive...

I'd always keep a few backup-timecode-vinyls at home.

Still, this really sucks.

I know this Vibe thread is old, but it seems like a close place to ask my question.

People seem to lose there timecode media a lot. Or break it. Or for vinyl, spill some kind of alcohol on it that will eat away at your record. Etc., Etc.

My question: Is it OK to make a backup copy of MY own 2 timecode cds? Or vinyl time codes if you had the means?

I hope so. Having it not be legal is not going to stop people from doing that were going to in the first place, but only stunt us DJ's/producers that know how important it is for company's and artists to get there well deserved funds. It keeps cost down for all of us too. But I am against a company forcing me to pay for something I already did when there was a very easy solution to not having to even have had the problem.

Just my cents.
