Cross vs. Version 7

Postby B.W. Bear on 25 Jan 2009, 12:37

Is the new Cross Pack a replacement for the DVS pack? I ordered the DVS pack from Amazon a while back but as they don't have it in stock it still hasn't arrived. Now I'm wondering if I should cancel my order and get Cross instead?

Advice, suggestions and opinions welcome!

Cheers,

Chris

hello,

http://www.mixvibes.com/site/pageeng/pa ... l_MixVibes

Cross and DVS are 2 very different softwares, "PAck" = audio interface included (same interface for DVS pack and Cross Pack)

Thanks for your reply and the link. Do you think that, in the future, Version 7 will slowly move to the background and the developers will focus more on Cross?

both version will get free updates and improvements and last not least they have different prices...so no worries about this :D

both mixvibes DVS 7 & Cross are good
so it all depends on how you want to work

lets brake it down
we will start time code feeling ....both 7 & Cross Feel good to me
I have been using mixvibes 6 & 7 for years And have tested the Cross vinly beta for about 10 weeks...as I said both feel go to me

Media Management
Cross media manger is very good , easy to use ...better than 7
BUT once you get used how mixvibes 7 media manager works you will not have a problem

I-TUNES vs no I-Tunes...I dont use I-tune for my music
so this is no bigge for me .....but if you use I-tunes & have all your music in I-tunes then Cross is for you

Custom vs simple....the good thing will mixvibes DVS 7 is you can move your racks around & hide your racks when you dont need them.....or you can run 2 LCD screens and have your sampler & effects on one screen and your decks and media list , play list on the other.......where Cross is simple , everything is in front off you

PC vs Mac , PC & Linux ...if you going to run on a PC now & in the future...than mixvibes 7 will be OK.....but if your thinking off up-grading to a Mac in the future or look at changing your OS so you can run LINUX ...Then Cross is for you

Features vs NO Features...mixvibes 7 has a sampler & effects.....Cross has on real Features ...BUT Cross is only new
and with in a year it will have some more good features

PS: I know its a hard decision....mixvibes 7 will be here for some time yet...I'm hoping for a 8 & a 9
but mixvibes Cross is one off those programs mixvibes had to make
because you can only do so much DEV with a old platform
the new platform that Cross is made on is the Future

Mello and Wazza cheers very much for your input! I can't actually find anywhere online that's selling the Cross Pack at the moment; are either of you (or anyone else) aware of where it's on sale (or could I maybe buy it direct from you nice inVibes people?!). Have a new radio show starting soon and would be good to have the ease of use of this system for visiting DJs.

Cheers,

Chris
