How do I record my mix?

Postby mindster on 23 Jan 2009, 00:48

I'm using a Reloop RMX40DSP (2 x 4 channel mixer)
Mixvibes with u46MK2 driver with 2 turntables.

I thought I could record my mixes by the 'microphone' input on my laptop and the REC output of my mixer..
Well it kinda works, but it also records the sound of the needles touching the Time code vinyl..
The quality of my mixes is okay, except for the bleeeep.
Is there a solution for this problem?

Before I could record my mixes I had to reduce the 'mic' volume.
It was 100 %, but now only 5%!!
When I set this to 10% or higher the recorded mix is clipping, So I had to reduce the volume..
Am I doing something wrong?

I'm sorry to ask this again. I have to learn a lot..

Could it be, that I need new needles on my Ortofon Pro Concorde elements?

try visiting the U46MKII control pannel and mute the monitor levels.

Woow :surprised: Thanks!!
Can I both set them on + 12 dB?
What are the other effects? or is it not a problem to keep it at +12 db?
Or what is an acceptual value?
THey both stood at - 34,5 dB..

and the 5% of my mic channel, is that normal?

-34.5db just shows that they are turned down.. but this does not kill the volume 100%, however the mute [M] buttons do.. so leave them set where ever you like, just as long as they are muted..

yes this is quite normal, just ensure your "Mic Boost" is switched of in the windows audio priperties.

Bryan
