Edit by unclevibes: From my own experience of the u46mk2 sound card, the original drivers aren't as stable as this one released in november 2008 by http://www.asio4all.com. If your actual driver give you satisfaction just don't change it!
ASIO4ALL_2_9_English.zip You can use it with any sound card. Now 2 sound cards or more can work together in asio. Read the docs after the install & find new applications for your own sound cards! the setup is very easy & quick As most DVS problems are related to weak drivers of sound cards I recommand asio4all! If the testers have the same analysis, Mixvibes will change the automatic setup of the U46MK2 to introduce asio4all instead of original esi drivers. Please feel free to comment & vote!UncleVibes wrote:Windows vista has a "USB Sound" driver that installes when you plug in the u46 for the first time... asio4all can run the device from them.
Yes of course & it's true also for xp I think. The problem as defined by tuxxl is how to stop monitoring of the inputs (beeeeeeeep)
so you mean prevent the timecode from being heard while you play your mixvibes tracks? the answer is simple, in the sound options for windows... go to the playback tab and double click "speakers, U46DJ", then in the new window turn the volume down (see the picture) but dont mute it! there you have it, timecode gone, mixvibes plays! go me!

I have done some tests without the U46 MK II drivers. Results are bad. I have a sort of buzz on the right deck while playing for more than 15 minutes.
then I played with Asio4all mode and all were all right.
It could be nice if some others could do some testing with and without U46 MK II drivers with Asio4All...

Running asio4all without the u46 driver seems to be working fine for me, i have only had the u46 for about a day now but i quickly gave up on its own driver in favour of asio4all. maybe we have different settings?

So, here are some good news...
Don't do as I have done : installing a 2.8 beta ! Just install the 2.9 and all will be great.
I'm playing with 128 samples without problems.

ASIO4ALL will aggregate your devices - which means if you have a desktop, you can buy 2 of these: 5.1 Soundcard for PCand have full, dual turntable timecode capability - for less than a tenner!!! I used to use ASIO4ALL (the original version) to convert a 5.1 into a 3 stero out card that I used with ABleton Live. Rock solid - no problems with it at all. Gotta love ASIO4ALL!

I tried using the Asio 4 all driver v2.9,and managed to get it running at a stable 64 samples on my vista computer. However i had this peculiar problem, probably due to something i did not do.
Everytime i would exit mixvibes, on the next restart it would state that no audio interface was present, and i would have to set it up and calibrate to get the vinyl control working. After doing this a couple of times i decided it time to revert to the u46 drivers. What did i miss? any ideas?

@ Cactus... follow this tutorial on settung the u46 up with asio4all.. viewtopic.php?f=207&t=12058remember, you must use the off-line settings panel of asio4all to select your audio device before you run it with mixvibes, i dont know why as yet but if you set it up while mixvibes is running and use the mixvibes options to launch and configure asio4all it forgets the settings and reverts back to the original setup on reboot of mixvibes. regards, Bryan

I don't use it, i had installed it, but it didn't work, got no sound at all out of it after following the tutorial... after that I installed the ESI driver, and I must say that i'm quite happy about that one, it's very stable and works perfectly with 3ms latency... i'll reinstall everything next week and give the Asio4All driver another go then.. The driver i'm currently using: http://download.esi-audio.com/?w=esi&p=26&g=2&l=en
