[solved]gargling noise coming from deck 02

Postby tjwaters on 13 Dec 2008, 00:16

ok so today i finally got to spin on mixvibes and everything was going fine until i was doing a back cue on deck 02 then it stopped playing, i took the needle off of the record and it was still making this gargling noise and the waveform was moving really slowly even thought the needle was off. The other deck is perfect i didnt have a problam yet but the other deck goes like that most of the times when its in vinyl mode....anyone know the problem?

p.s ....sorry for posting so many topics lately im new to this and just need some help.....very big thanks to people who responded to my other posts :D

Double check to make sure the ground wire is on all the way. Next time the problem happens, push the Play/Pause button on the skin, that might also correct it.

Hmm... Try taking out your needles from the cartridge and licking or breathing heavily on them (for conductivity purposes). You could also try taking the headshell off, then screwing it back in. Last thing I can think of would be to clean your needles and run the install wizard.

NO, Dont do this!

Your breath contains saliva!!! And licking your stuff will leave saliva behind also!!!!

Saliva corrodes things and you don’t want that to happen to any part of your turntable cartridge or the contacts in your tone arm , you may end up with a very expensive fix if you start doing stuff like this!

If you need to clean the contacts on your tone are use a pencil with an eraser on the end, gently put it in where the contacts are and lightly move the pencil side to side...

Cleaning the cartridges is slightly trickier, i use a contact cleaning spray called Ambersil, its not expensive and works very well!

Sorry phad, but that was just bad advice...

well i just bought new needles with mixvibes last week and i played normal records on them before i installed mv and they are working fine....it's odd

i notice when i change the pitch control on that deck it takes a lot longer to respond with the pitch fader on the screen compared to the other deck........and also when it happened i switched everything off unplugged the u46mk2 from my comp and just went into the software by itself and deck 02 was still messed up!......but i bet you anything if i go back on tommorrow everything will work fine until i do a back cue or change track on deck 02 and it will get all messed up again ......grrr i wish it would work

if you guys have anymore ideas i would love to hear them! :D

Very Serious, lol

saliva is 98% water, oxygen contained within water or air moisture results in aluminium oxide which is a form of rust... though just like iron/red oxides its not very conductive.
