i have mixvibes DVS 7 and want to buy a mac . I read that DVS 7 is not compatible with mac, is that correct ?

if i buy mixvibes Cross , could i make it work on a mac with a maya 44 soundcard and the basic vinyls ?

Hello !

Mixvibes can run on a Mac if you install Windows with Bootcamp.
Cross run natively on Mac, but not support TCV yet.
Maya 44 USB is well supported on Mac.

Cheers

Hello,
I'll get mac soon too.
But i found Parallels Desktop for mac.
Is that better than bootcamp or not ?
For bootcamp you have to restart your mac to choose your OS.
For Parallels Desktop you don't need restart your mac, you just open a window of Windows and u can run all windows software.

No, that is not a good solution, it won't work on emulators.

In fact Bootcamp is a partition utility under Mac to create an ntfs partition and boot on it, this way windows run the way as it runs on PC.

Unfortunately Cross is not yet vinyl control compatible.

You are going to have to install Windows in order to use MV7. You should get a copy of Windows XP Home or Professional with SP2 and install it on there

As far as parallels, I don't think you get the full hardware support you would get compared to using boot camp.

boot camp is a must have for MAC users, parallels doesn't do a good job with ASIO drivers. I use bootcamp and it rocks :D

Also install Mac drive software on bootcamp so you can read your MAC HD and don't need to copy your music twice. ;)

alternately you can use this http://www.paragon-software.com/home/ntfs-mac/ to access your files from OSX if you want to keep your mp3s on your windows partition.

I'd rather go this way because you don't rely on the stability of another program (Macdrive) while playing with MixVibes.

good point. It's true the analysis of files is a little slowed down. I guess MAc drive takes a toll on the loading of tracks. You want to make sure your mediabase is analyzed properly if your are goint o store your music on your MAC partition.
