CRATES OR OVERVIEWS

Postby djrhyme on 18 Sep 2008, 17:29

Hi all...I have been waitIng patiently for this feature as it is a real pain the ass to have everything all in one in the Mediabase. I've brought up this topic before and polocorp said that this would be addressed in DVS7. Has it? I basically need my folders to be crates. I've tried to do groups and can only get max of 20 groups (Thx N-Deep! :D ). I know in Serato when I attach my external hard drive without the SL1, it will create overviews and break up my folders into crates. Please tell me this is now possible as I have almost given up!!!

Thx!

The only thing I can think of is to use the explorer window and access your folders that way, not sure if you've tried that or if that's what you're looking for.

^^^^ Thanks for the reply1

Yeah that's what I do for the most part but it defeats using the Mediabase other than than trying to find something really fast and youneed BPM (of course if you've analyzed all your MP3's).

polocorp...has this feature been developed in DVS 7?

Hi DJ Rhyme,

I use iTunes to make my track lists and the iTunes as the iTunes readout is now working great... I would advise to work on your selections with iTunes...

Version 7 has brought many improvements in display and media management, however we haven't implemented a crate system.

We'll keep on making the media mangement better in future updates.

No, it is not implemented.

Personnaly I use an external program to manage my mediabase.
Mediamonkey do a really good job in tagging and organising mediabase.

I don't really know exactly what are crates, but if it is a way to sort files (bpm, artists, ratings...) in a directory you can do this easyly with Mediamonkey.

Cheers
