Hi Gang!

I just wanted to point out to the other forum members that I've been given negative karma for my last post. :(

Both 'mydogrizla' and 'beezwakks' felt the need to give me negatives based on my post.

I really don't care about "karma" points or whatever, but I think it's immature to do such a thing. Heaven forbid I side with the developers of MV - they have a ton of work on their plate and it takes time to improve software. I have met Patrick, Paul, and Eric in person and they are good people. They are dedicated to MixVibes, and I think they do a heck of a good job based on the amount of work they face everyday.

I'm more than happy to share my experiences with MixVibes, as I own a full spread of equipment and maybe I can help those that are running into issues. Aside from owning (2) RME Fireface 800s, I also own a U46MK2, a Stanton FS Open box, and my best friend owns a U46DJ rev 1.

My latest project has been putting an audio partition on my Thinkpad T61p, and optimizing it for ASIO use. Just like anything, it took a lot of time to really unlock the potential of my hardware. This takes a lot of patience, technical know-how, and reading. Not only did I find great performance gains by making adjustments to power management, graphics adapter, etc, but I also had to figure out a way to circumvent the fact that the Fireface 800 was sharing a virtual IRQ with the graphics card.

The only point I'm getting at here is that if you really want to get to the bottom of your issues, you have to be tenacious. I probably spent 20 hours in total over the course of 2 weekends, but as a result I get 1.0ms latency and performance that is so close to realtime that it's amazing.

thanks Idorio for the support. We do our best to improve MixVibes for you guys.

I don't want to get to partial and just wished this topic remained factual instead of seeing two page of comments containing no real information on the topic.

Let's try to keep it that way from know on ;)

Troubl' came by today and here's the video we promised :

FULLSCREEN

Guess what ? Troubl' liked the feeling of 7.100 better for scratchung/juggling. For dratic backspins we are studying the differences between the versions to improve the real time DJ feel in the next update. :D

he was using my work laptop : WIN XP on a SONY VAIO Intel dual 1.6 Ghz, 1 Gig RAM + U46 Mk2, driver 1.039 at 128 latency, vinyl V2.

The U46mk2 is set to 'line' for a better scratch accuracy.

No problem Mydogrizla, we're here to help and make sure your feedback (once checked in detail) is processed to improve our future releases... ;)

Hey Polocorp

Even though Troubl liked the 7.1 feel better, is it possible that users can have a setting where they can disable the filter that was introduced in 6.29?

I swore by 6.282's feel for mixing, and maybe you could create a checkbox in the Vinyl tab to engage/disengage said filter? Even if there wasn't a checkbox, and it was accessible via a switch in the configuration file itself, it would be a big help to those that really liked the old feel.

Respectfully yours,

Louis

its not because Troubl liked 7.100 we're dropping the problem. the developper team is looking into it.

To MDR - some hardware specs : 2x Reloop RP-6000 MK5 TTs, 1 orthofon electro needle and one shure M44-7 needle, Korg Zero 4 mixer. The display of the WAV in the video is due to the 'tick scrolling' option selected in the install Wizard. It allows MixVibes to have better audio performances, as it eases on the video display ressources.
