I'm not interested in using my wheels in any sort of vinyl mode. I just want them to be able to jog through a track by moving the playhead. If the track is playing, they should be able to move the playhead faster or slower and if the song is not playing, they should still be able to move the playhead and jog through the track... ...but mine don't. If I have a track playing, then all is well. If the track is stopped, my wheels don't work. How do I fix this? I could find anything in the manual. Sorry. M

I'm using a PC laptop with a Denon MC6000mk2.
I'm running the 32bit version of Cross 3.3.10
I can't find the deck mode controls so I can't tell if they are in Vinyl or CD mode. My downloaded .pdf of the manual has outdated graphics that show a vinyl/cd mode toggle button that I don't have.

I see it! Thank you, Daniel!
My players are in CD mode, not vinyl mode.

(laughs) Seriously you guys, this is pretty amusing in some ways. I uhhh....I'm looking at the general tab in my prefs in well, uhhh, there's no button to turn on tool-tips.
So, should I toggle from CD to vinyl? Is that the deal?

Okay, I tried switching to vinyl but that's not what I want either because if a track is playing and I touch the wheel, it stops until I let go. I don't want that. I want that wheel to ONLY speed up or slow down a given track so that I can jog it into place and manually match up beats from time to time.

what you are asking for is pitch bend correct not familiar with the controller ,, might want to look in the MIDI map and see if pitch bend is mapped ,,or the manual for the controller ,, tool tips should be in the general tab of preferences the U-Mix Control Pro has pitch bend by using the side of the platter not the top ,,

I always mix with key locked engaged so the coincidental pitchbending effect that comes along with using a jog wheel is no particular interest to me.
What I want is for my wheels to work like they did in Virtual DJ which was this:
When the track is in the player but is not playing//in motion, my wheels regardless of where I touch them should jog the playhead forward or backward through the track with a speed dependent on how quickly//vigorously I'm turning the wheel. I really don't care if the pitch bends or not.
When the track IS playing, I want the wheels to speed up or slow down the track depending on how quickly//vigorously I'm turning the wheel. In vinyl mode here in Cross (basically the same as it was in VDJ) if I touch the top of my wheel, the track will suddenly stop moving until I let go. No thank you...it's messin' me up really badly.
