iam stuck on advice U-Mix Control Pro 2 ? PLEASE HELP

Postby Vultureuk on 06 Feb 2015, 04:41

lost in the oblivion know as controller verses mixer
now let me start in saying ive got mixvibes Ultimate 7 with timecode control via the U-Mix 44 soundcard and its sick ...(MIXVIBESYOUROCK) (creep) .................... what i was thinking i can use the U-Mix Control Pro 2 then update to Cross and use my DVS mark 2's for emulation but what i need to know is what is the cut off or lag times on the crossfader on the U-Mix Control 2 ..... 1 mil or 2 .

i got £300 to spend on either updates + control 2 or mixer ....
trying to get back into scratching

yours in advance :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

If you are already using DVS and an external mixer, and intend on continuing to use DVS, why not keep using it with your current stuff? Just update to the "black" version of Cross (Remember to use "upgrade" so you don't pay the full price) and run it in external mixer mode with your U-Mix 44, then if you need extra controls such as for hot cues and effects, run it with a Midifighter or some Dicers or something similar to that. I use a twister and it was the easiest thing to map ever, even with the stock MIDI mapper and not using CrossMap.

The advantage of using the external mixer is you know it won't lag, and can use the sends and returns for hardware effects, which are usually better than the built in ones, and using guitar pedals for DJing is the new hotness right now, as you can take things really sideways with them.
